Bountiful Birthday Blooms

I've just received my first stamp set from The Greetery .... Birthday Blooms! It's one of those sets that don't look like much in the packet, but oh do they make wonderful cards!

And I can't stop playing with it! So here's a bunch of cards using this set ... these are just the purple ones!

The first one was CASed from Dana's card, just to get the creative juices warmed up.

This one was inspired by the sketch challenge at Global Design Project.

I'm so disappointed to miss the deadline with posting this one. Loved the sketch.

This is a small card ... only 3¼" x 4". I had pieces left over from cutting cardstock to make slimline cards.  I have 6, so this will be the first of a set as a gift for a friend.

Here's the whole gang!

More colours are stamped and die cut but still on my desk. So expect more.

Ombre Hi

I have had new supplies coming in so fast! I find it helpful to go back to the cards and ideas that made me buy them in the first place.

I so enjoyed Seeka's idea of using one die behind the negative cuts of letter dies. So I pulled out one of my inked card fronts and went from there.

I obviously still had the actual letter dies left over.  I started by distressing them with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean in an ombre way.  Then I thought they needed some more details, so stamped the SSS Outline Leaves Background and embossed in white.  I coloured the leaves with white pencil which helped them stand out.

I love this Stampin' Up embossing folder - so subtle.

Floral Squares Card Set

Here's a quick way to make a set of cards AND use up some of the stash of inked paper I have.

Go through your stash of inked cards. I have a lot of these because when I have finished a project and there is still some distress ink on my craft mat, I spritz it and smooch a piece of card to use up the ink.

I die cut the set of Floral Squares from Pinkfresh studio, and played around with the papers to see which ones I wanted to use.

Here's the full set done.

Unfortunately, this white linen card stock had warped.  I must flatten it out with the weight of some heavy books.

On this one, I kept a strip of the inked card to add to the edge.

I love the flow of this one.

Grounded in the earth ... floating towards the sky.

A Touch of Blue

I love getting inspiration from others then seeing where it will take me.  I started with this card by Steffi - love that triple layered flower.  First I pretty much replicated it, but with the supplies in my stash.

I was trying a different embossing paste, and it turned out more cream than white. Then I decided to add some bits and pieces that were already on my desk... cream leaves, the frames left over from this card. I mounted it with beige foam to give extra interest.

Lucky these cream gems from Pretty Pink Posh had just arrived. A perfect fit.

The 2 together ...
