Guest Designer at Inkspirational

I was delighted to be asked to be a guest designer at Inkspirational for their designer's choice challenge :

I started with these supplies ...

I am really drawn to the blues, turquoise and purple at the moment. I started by inking up the background stamp and giving a spritz before stamping. Then I spritz some white perfect pearls to give a lovely shimmer.

I then stamped and embossed the circles and sentiments in Princess Gold. When you have threads, it's easier to have a mounted panel so you can tape down the threads at the back before glueing it down keeping it all clean and tidy.

Come and pop on over to Inkspirational to see what the rest of the design team has come up with ... and then join in the fun!

November CCC

Another month has flown by ... and real cards have been sent and received.

I went with the November CCC's sketch and theme of leaves.

You can go and look at all the other cards, but I will have to send you the link once I've worked how to do it on my iPad.

A new phone cover

It's that time again ...

Time to change my phone cover!

This time I started with an ombre paper from MME - Cut & Paste. Cut out the small piece with the  telephone. Stamped words from Hero Arts, and the delightful heart speech & arrows from the MME Cut & Paste stamp set.

Fun!

Another Mistletoe tag

As I was photographing my first Mistletoe card, I had a flash of inspiration for another using the same sketch from Sketch Saturday. Except this time I flipped the sketch on it's side.

Mistletoe Tag

A quick tag card with the Unity mistletoe.

I started with this ....

but decided that the band was too thick, and I needed to bring in the kraft colour more. So I added a tiny strip.

I think it brings it together better. Which do you prefer?

This was based on the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge.

I will also enter it to the Die-cut Divas Any Holiday Challenge.

The Greatest Gift

I bought a whole stash of Unity Stamps last December and a lot of them haven't been inked yet! Now is the time to get the Christmas ones all inked up!

The first is The Greatest Gift - I can see myself doing a lot of cards with this one so I'm sure you'll see more in the days and weeks to come.

I was inspired by the simple design at the Muse Challenge of just using one image and one sentiment; and the colours of the C.A.S. Challenge.

October CCC

I was waiting until my October CCC card had arrived at it's destination, before I revealed it. Took almost a month to get there. So much for modern transport.

I loved the sketch and added enamel dots too.  I have had this idea in my head for a while and the sketch was the perfect match.  A few months ago my son wanted a gift for a surfer type friend and I suggest he make a friendship bracelet. As I hadn't done one since my childhood, I went online for a refresher course. And found that there are in fact THOUSANDS of different patterns. I guess we just had the basic one back in South Africa in the day. I thought that adding one to a "friendship" card was a good idea - she can just slide it out.

You can still join in the fun and join up for the November CCC. Nothing better than getting the real thing in your postbox!

Under the Mistletoe

I'm inking up this wonderful mistletoe from Hero Arts for the first time, using the CAS(E) this sketch challenge sketch.

I will also enter it for the Hero Arts Holiday Challenge : White Out.

Ombre

A lovely ombre challenge over on Fusion Card Challenge this week.

I went with both the sketch and the photo.

Christmas Triangles ... 3 & 4

These are my last 2 cards from stamping ONE background of Hero Arts Tiny Flags.

Here I used 3 small trees with the WPlus9 Joy die.

At this point I didn't have much left, and the triangles would have been pretty small ... so I decided to cut them into diamonds to make ornaments. Teamed up with snow embossing folder and the SSS sentiment.

So the answer to my question on Christmas Triangles 1, was that I got FOUR cards from one background! Pretty awesome.

Hugs ... and thoughts

A quick post ... the card (made for someone who's been in my thoughts a lot) ...

Verses sentiment and SSS Scribble Flowers.

Christmas Triangles ... 2

This is actually the first card I made with the Hero Arts Tiny Flags background stamp.

This is the biggest triangle I cut from the background. The tiny flag background is embossed with Princess Gold Embossing Powder, and the Star in Enchanted Gold Embossing Powder. There is so much one can do with this stamp. I love the way it looks so different if you cut it along the gold edge (tree) vs the coloured edge (pot).

Christmas Triangles ....

Starting with these supplies .... picked raspberry & peacock feathers and a little tumbled glass.

I made this card ...

The triangle pattern made it so easy to cut into triangle trees.

How many cards do you think I made with the one background stamp?

A Set of Three

I almost missed the Muse Challenge, but since I had my paper pads out, I had to play. Michele has set us the challenge of using one patterned paper to make a set of three cards.

I have used less than one sheet of LOTV Woodland Wishes which comes in a 8" x 8" pad. Again I'm not catching the true colour. It looks more red in the photos, but in reality it's deep pink/plum colour - you can click the link to see.

Some of the snowflakes and the sentiment are embossed in Princess Gold.

Softly

I am so happy to have this Penny Black Stamp called "Softly". First time inked up and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I started with a box of 12, but soon realised that I needed more colours. I now have the box of 72.  I added the May Arts ribbon (don't you just love it!) and sprinkled a few sequins.

I don't know what the problem was, but my camera would NOT capture the deep purple colour no matter what setting I used. Kept changing it to blue. Any advice would be welcome. So I am posting 2 pictures ... the first one scanned to try to show the true colour and the second is the photo.

This is my entry for the Color Q Challenge.

Happy Day

Adding patterned paper to my cards does not come easily to me - I naturally head for my stamps and ink. BUT I have a rather large stash of 6x6 paper pads that need to be used.

I found it a little flat, so added some Wink of Stella to the top of the happy and the heart on the bird.

I will be entering this to the Color Throwdown Challenge, and the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.
