Congrats!

Four more days until the results come out !

This card definitely called for a Misti Moment!

I was so taken with the colour combo at Color Throwdown this week.

Creating Floral Backgrounds

Patterned paper is lovely, but it's also fun to create your own backgrounds with stamps. And I especially love the WPlus9 floral stamps to do that.

Perfect for the WPlus9 Throwback Thursday Challenge

and going with the colours of Colour Me : Subtle Challenge,

and the sketch of Retro Sketches Challenge

Floral Smiles

When I saw the Muse Challenge, I spotted some sequins just the right colours right in front of me. Nearly put just the 3 sequins on a card, but thought that was very cheeky - besides, I love stamping. So looked for some flower stamps so I could use the sequins for the middle. Love this Artful flowers Simon Says Stamp set, and paired it with a sentiment from the Happy and Smile set.

Muse Challenge - I went with the general design and colours, with a bold black sentiment.

Rainbow Butterflies 2

Another shot at the Card Concept : Butterfly Effect Challenge

I used the Hero Arts swirl dot embossing folder, and made dots on the butterflies with White Accent.

Soft Rose

Last card for today ... following the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #127.

Rainbow Butterflies 1

More rainbows and butterflies. Couldn't resist the Card Concept Challenge : Butterfly Effect.

I die cut a bunch of butterflies in various sizes with my Silhouette. Water-coloured them with Distress Inks and doodled with a White Gel pen.

More for Graduation

I'm going to have to make more than one graduation card this year! So here's a second card.

I got the printable from Neat and Tangled from a couple years back, but I added the arrow stamps, a silhouette cut layered grad cap and glossy accents to the Grad; matted it on red cardstock leaving the tiniest white border.

An entry for the CAS-ology Challenge : Graduation and a2z scrapbooking : New Beginnings Challenge (Hero Arts : Borders and Arrows set).

A variation

While I was playing in the card scramble on Hero Arts Flickr group, I was making 2 sets of flowers, tags, backgrounds.

But now I have more time to look at the design and colours, and I decided that I would keep just to the same tones. The tag also needed some black to make the colours pop more. Added some black splatters to the background to tie it all together. Glossy accents on the flower centre. I prefer this one.

Will enter this to the Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

Still with the bottom line : watercolour, tag, favourite colour.

I will also enter this to A Blog Named Hero : Favourite Challenge as this has my favourite colours, favourite watercolouring inks.

Colouring

Joining in Kathy's 30 Day Colouring challenge.

Painted with Distress Inks. You can see I'm learning her white dot technique.

Graduation

I can't believe that my youngest is about to graduate from school! So no more school runs as of September.

He is in the middle of writing his French Baccalaureate - well the worst is over, only one oral next week. He has been working hard, so I wanted a special card ready for when the results come in.

The graduate is a silhouette die cut; the absolutely die cut and sentiment are from SSS, the arrows are Hero Arts and the stars are WPlus 9. I feel the arrows and stars give it a "Reach for the stars" kind of feel.

Will enter this to the CAS-ology Challenge : Graduation,

Double Challenge Scramble 2

I'm a bit greedy when it comes to a scramble ... if I'm in my craft studio, why not make two! So this is my second for the Hero Arts Flickr group scramble.

Jayne gave the challenge to have a card on a card. I don't think I've ever made one of these before.
And she gave us the extra challenge of incorporating the Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge at the same time.

For this one, I went with the bottom row : watercolour, tag and my favourite colour.

I love BLUES, turquoise, green and so with my favourite 3 distress inks (Salty Ocean, Peacock Feather and the new Twisted Citron), I had fun creating a watercolour background.

Double Challenge Scramble 1

I nearly missed the Hero Arts Flickr group scramble this week, as I thought it was for tomorrow. Luckily I set a reminder on my phone!

Jayne gave the challenge to have a card on a card. I don't think I've ever made one of these before.
And she gave us the extra challenge of incorporating the Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge at the same time. Try do that when you're on the clock!

For my first card, I went with the last vertical column : heat embossing, die cutting and my favorite colour.

The little white hearts are heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I will also enter this to the a2z scrapbooking : New Beginnings Challenge.

Two Circles - Take 2

A re-think of my first two circle card for the One Layer Simplicity Challenge : Round and Round.

Much softer.

Stamped my two circles - a real Misti Moment - so easy to line up. The A, heart and S were embossed in white; the arrow in Ranger Platinum (I love that colour!).

Two Circles - Take 1

The month long challenge at One Layer Simplicity Challenge : Round and Round has been stretching my mojo, and playing on my mind. This month the challenge is to use 2 circles on your card - no more, no less, but you can add other images and sentiments.

It has taken me a week to come up with this ...

Originally I wanted to combine the colours in the middle, but I thought purple would be strange to show love. But I'm not that happy with it. The pink and blue are a bit too bright. Perhaps I will go and paint in the purple - it would make better sense.

Oh decisions, decisions! What do you think?

Be - YOU - ti -ful

More butterflies at the Muse Challenge .... Yay!!

Here's my take ... you can see I've been having more fun with my Silhouette. The butterflies have a lovely shimmer from Wink of Stella.

Here's a close-up of the shimmer - it looks so much better in real life - you can see the dimension on the letters.

Here is Vicki's Card for inspiration ...

I'll also enter it for Addicted to CAS : Butterfly Challenge.

Bring on the Happy

I have always been a lover of rainbows and butterflies, so putting them both on a card makes me really happy!

Inspired by these challenges ...

A White Christmas

I have been following the Muse : Christmas Visions Challenge for a couple weeks now, but have never got round to making a card. But I couldn't resist this week.

I will also enter this to the Colour Me : Monochromatic Challenge.

Masking 2

Since I still had some coloured texture paste left over from my first card, thought I'd better make another.

Entering it to ...

Masking 1

We had a fun card scramble at Hero Arts Flickr group on Sunday night. The challenge was to use embossing. My heat gun died a couple of weeks ago (after over 21 years of service) and I hadn't got round to getting another one, so I decided to go for embossing paste and masks.

Since we only have 90 minutes to make and link it up, it's a bit of a rush. Very dicey with embossing paste which takes time to dry!

So here is what I submitted to the Flickr Challenge ... the zigzags and diamonds are embossing paste.

I thought it needed a little more ... so I've added black Accents to the green diamonds. I think it makes the colours pop more.
