Just for You
I'm creeping in under the deadline for the Altenew challenge ...
How many of you spend time double guessing yourself? Should I use black or brown background? Should the sentiment be a centimetre higher or lower?
Here's me testing backgrounds ... black, mottled brown, textured brown ...
Do you think I went with the right one?
I used Brass Liquid Pearl for the centres.

Wishes of Fishes
I'm trying two new products today ... the frame fish die and Sand embossing powder.
The background was done in Daniel Smith watercolours.
I used a Versamark pen to make the sand dots and to cover parts of the framed fish dies, then I used the Sand embossing powder.
I doubled up on the word dies to make them stand out more.

Book Lover Birthday
Our book club has been going for 21 years and I keep a lookout for book related stamps. The Hero Arts Bookcase stamp pairs up beautifully with their Pee-a-Boo die. So much fun.
I coloured with Copics. Here's the front having being diecut.
But I thought that a birthday needs a message. I couldn't stick a message over it as it would prevent a window from being opened. So I decided that I needed something that could be opened.
I diecut the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday and coloured with Delicata gold. I mounted it on an embossed vellum. I found a lot of people don't like tying bows, so I decided to use the string tie system that just needs to be looped.
When was the last time you used a brad?!
Good to be using up the stash!
Here I've unlooped the gold string ...

I'm delighted to see the Matryoshka dolls (also known as Babushka dolls, stacking dolls, nesting dolls, Russian tea dolls, or Russian dolls) as 2 of our members have just been to Russia!

Ombre Hi
I have had new supplies coming in so fast! I find it helpful to go back to the cards and ideas that made me buy them in the first place.
I so enjoyed Seeka's idea of using one die behind the negative cuts of letter dies. So I pulled out one of my inked card fronts and went from there.
I obviously still had the actual letter dies left over. I started by distressing them with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean in an ombre way. Then I thought they needed some more details, so stamped the SSS Outline Leaves Background and embossed in white. I coloured the leaves with white pencil which helped them stand out.
I love this Stampin' Up embossing folder - so subtle.
