List ...

The CASology Challenge cue word this week is LIST. I was pretty stumped until I remembered the Life's Messages stamp set of Penny Black.

I first tried stamping each of the lines in a different colour, but it didn't have enough punch, so I did reverse by keeping the text white, but colouring the background.

Adding some glossing accents to give the hearts an extra pop, and some embossed lines to add interest and flow.

Washi & Tag

I gave 5 pieces of washi to some stamping friends and we have to each come up with a card using them.

This is my take .... pity the metallic gold star didn't come out on the photo. I stuck the washi on card stock so I could cut it to the size I wanted and mount it up. Some I trimmed them thinner.

To hold the string, I added a bauble on the inside. (You can see the gold better on this one.)

This is a long card and will fit in a standard business envelope.

Leaves ... or just one!

As it's autumn in the northern hemisphere, it's time for leaves - or in my case, just one!

Die cut the leaf in white and metallic, and then put the pieces in.

I went to a wonderful wedding this passed weekend. The bride was beautiful and radiant. There was such a wonderful, warm and friendly ambiance. They had very simple, natural decorations ... most of which were leaves. Perfect for a CASology challenge. The cue word is CHERISH this week.

I paired the Papertrey sentiment with the leaves of the Simon Says Stamp Life is a Journey set and used the ink and spritz technique to get a watercolour effect.

Time Out Challenge #94 - 2nd Card

This is a reminder post for the Time Out Challenge #94 : Home Sweet Home.

I have a second card as guest designer and I went in completely different direction this time, keeping it CAS and light. I still used the colour combination; I took the dimension and texture of the seahorse & shell and thought of embossing folders and finally, and used an outline die and brown string to represent the thin branches.

Soft sorrow

Our CASology challenge cue word this week is SORRY. I decided to go for a soft sympathy card keeping the die white with the softest touches of pink.

I nearly made a Sorry ... belated Birthday card. How are you going to interpret this challenge?

Time Out Challenge : Guest Designer

It's Tuesday, so time for a new CASology Challenge. This week's cue word is ODD. Here are some of my favourite quotes about being odd, original and one-of-a-kind!

So you can see where I'm heading for my card. I used the most "original" bird I could find in my stash. I added glossy accents to give more pop.

CASology #269 : GRID

I'm actually off the grid this week ... relaxing in marvellous Maldives ...

But I did make my card for the CASology challenge : GRID before I left. Using a soft grey for the grid and layering my elements, I preserved lots of white space.
