Bee Happy

One day behind already with the Clean & Simple 2 online class, but one can jump in anytime one wants. The luxury of online classes.

Day one focused the craftmanship ... making sure everything was clean & crisp .... no smudges, wonky lines, etc. We were treated to 3 videos with great tips and techniques. Homework was to use one of the 4 sketches, based on the class cards, as a jumping off point. I will try to play with all 4 sketches, but here is my first.

One of the things I've noticed when I post my cards online, is that I see my card with a different perspective. I was very happy with my card - I aligned my sentiment with the bottom of the flight dots. It was only when I photographed it that I felt the sentiment looked too low. So I changed it!

What do you think? Does that quarter of an inch make that much difference ?

ATC 6 : Watercolour

I'm participating in an ATC swap on the Hero Arts Flickr group. I'm paired with Linda (you can see her blog here and her flickr photostream here) and we decided to swap 6 ATCs, each of us choosing 3 challenges.

Linda's final challenge was to use watercolour. I created a background and stitched around the edges.

I will also submit it for the Make your own Background Challenge at Moxie Fab World.

ATC 5 : Hearts

I'm participating in an ATC swap on the Hero Arts Flickr group. I'm paired with Linda (you can see her blog here and her flickr photostream here) and we decided to swap 6 ATCs, each of us choosing 3 challenges.

Linda's second challenge was hearts. I inked up some white card with Raspberry Distress Stains, then stamped La Lettre with the same. I added Diamond stickles and glossy accents to add sparkle and dimension.

ATC 4 : Music Challenge

I'm participating in an ATC swap on the Hero Arts Flickr group. I'm paired with Linda (you can see her blog here and her flickr photostream here) and we decided to swap 6 ATCs, each of us choosing 3 challenges.

Linda's first challenge was Music. I thought I didn't have any Hero Arts music stamps, but then I spotted the music on the collage stamp. Stamped and embossed in white on kraft card adding distress ink to the edges. I thought the sentiment from the Mix & Match elements fitted well with the theme.

ATC 3 : Use a Hero Arts Embossing Folder

I'm participating in an ATC swap on the Hero Arts Flickr group. I'm paired with Linda (you can see her blog here and her flickr photostream here) and we decided to swap 6 ATCs, each of us choosing 3 challenges.

My third challenge was to use a Hero Arts Embossing Folder. I stuck the washi tape before embossing.

ATC 2 : Use same stamp set challenge

I'm participating in an ATC swap on the Hero Arts Flickr group. I'm paired with Linda (you can see her blog here and her flickr photostream here) and we decided to swap 6 ATCs, each of us choosing 3 challenges.

My second challenge was for us to use the same stamp set and see what come up with. We went with 657773 Antique Flowers and Butterflies.
I stamped the dogwood blossom in wet cement to create a soft background. I painted the petals with Liquid pearls and used copics to colour the background.

I will also submit it for the Make your own Background Challenge at Moxie Fab World.

ATC 1 : Butterfly Challenge

I'm participating in an ATC swap on the Hero Arts Flickr group. I'm paired with Linda (you can see her blog here and her flickr photostream here) and we decided to swap 6 ATCs, each of us choosing 3 challenges.

I LOVE butterflies so my first challenge was to use a butterfly. I used the matching die to punch out the shape from the pp I created with the Starburst stamp and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls. I'm also entering it i the Moxie Fab World Create your Background Paper Challenge.

My oldest HA Stamp

A Blog called Hero is having a Golden Oldie challenge .... use an old stamp on a new project.

The butterfly panel stamp must be my oldest Hero Arts stamp. I think I bought it second hand about 10 years ago. I created a background with the Lattice Background stamp - gives the card a new look!

Blue Serenity

Blue is my favourite colour so I couldn't wait to play in the CASology Blue Challenge.

I stamped a the Hero Arts Lattice Background and coloured with Distress Markers then spritzed with perfect pearls. The sentiment is from Club Scrap and the pp is Theresa Collins.

Look at the shimmer from the perfect pearls.

Here you can see how I mounted the sentiment and pp panels on foam dots to give more dimension.

Hi through the window

I've been colouring quite a few of my new LOTV stamp images, and this little peeping bear is so cute and fits in with the Moxie Fab window challenge.

With the blue splashes I thought I would make the window look like a porthole on a ship.

Off the couch!

I'm trying to move more and eat better, so the challenge at Less is More was perfect:  One layer card with a sport or exercise them!

A little bling is good for motivation and encouragement - gems and diamond stickles!

Lili of the Valley Mini Album storage

I was the lucky winner of 10 Lili of the Valley stamps. Having so many arrive in one go made me realise that I could use the plastic pockets to make my own little storage album.

I stamped on white card making sure I had space to put the stamp alongside. I used another stamp for the other side and then slipped it in the pocket.

I use Club Scrap Mount-it to make the stamps sticky enough to cling to the plastic and the acrylic mounts. It comes in 2 bottle sizes : 2oz or 8oz.

What better cover, than to use the delightful Lili of the Valley papers to cover my chipboard, and the lovely circle sentiment. Used glossy accents to add dimension.

Once I had all the pockets and covers ready, I used my Bind-it-all to bring it all together. Tied with lovely May Arts ribbons.
Now I must go and play with all those stamps!

Who's turning 50?

First card of the year .... for Simon Says Black & White and a Splash of Colour challenge. I think this CAS-ual Fridays set is so cheeky and fun. And using my new Mind's Eye set with the chevron arrows.
