A save

I made a card with Washi - laying strips of washi on cardstock and then die-cutting it.

But I felt it was lost on the card, and it's been sitting there on my shelf staring at me most of the week.

Then the light went off .... add a black outline.

What do you think?

Wild with Washi - 3

My third card with washi.

I have so much washi and I love rainbows, so I wanted to use the rainbow colours. I started by stamping the Hero Arts paint streaks and then looked for matching washi tape. The sentiment is from Annabelle stamps, but I used a Hero Arts font to ink up the word "colour".

Wild with Washi - 2

My second card with washi tape.

I stuck the washi tape on my card front, then die cut my words. I then covered the washi tape on the background piece and spritzed it with Mr Huey gold. It didn't really match the gold of the washi tape, so I spritzed again with Delusions Postbox Red, but there is still a shimmer coming through which is difficult to catch on camera.

I die cut an extra 2 sets of words so that I could glue them together in layers to give a 3D effect. When I glued them down, I offset from the original cut to give a shadow effect to the words. I put a piece of dark green behind.

I die cut the hearts and star from the gold washi tape, but I added Wink of Stella to the star.

Going Wild with Washi - 1

Since I do have such a Wack of Washi, I might as well play and enter some cards in the Gallery Idol Competition.

I used 3 washi tape for the tabs, and a skinny one on the frame.

A close up of the Wink of Stella on the wing and leaves.

April CCC

I play in Deborah's Card Chain Challenge every month if at all possible. It's so good to send and receive the real thing.

This is the card I sent Monica. The Hello Sunshine dies, stamps and sequins from Lawn Fawn are just delightful.

If you want to join in for the May Challenge, you have until the 18th to sign up.

Heavenly Metal

My mind works a mile a minute and when Melissa from CAS•ology sent me the cue word of METAL, I didn't stop at one card! The cue reminded me of this wonderful creation that I spotted on Pinterest and pinned into my Inspiration Folder. So happy that I have finally used something from all those hours of pinning!

I inked the die-cut hearts in Versamark and embossed with gold. I still haven't sorted out all my craft supplies since I emptied my studio onto the ping-pong table (and the floor) next door. So it took me ages to find the gold thread. I hate not having everything sorted and in it's place, but I prefer creating to tidying.

Great Sketch

Love the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping

Stamped the Hero Arts Leafy Vines background stamp, sponged Distress inks and cut it into squares.

Guest Designer at CAS•ology

I was so happy to be invited by Melissa at CAS•ology, to be the guest designer this week. The theme is METAL.

I had planned to make my card over the weekend, but then my husband surprised me with a weekend away. So my head was spinning with ideas, but my hands couldn't play! But I did it on my return Sunday night.

Gold Spritz, gold thread and gold embossing! A lot of detail, layers and texture but still CAS as I left a lot of white space around the focal point.

I diecut the WPlus 9 feathers and inked up with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers, then flicked water over them. Made sure they were dry before the next step. I stamped the feathers with a paint splatter and touched the edges with Versamark and then embossed in gold.

Two Tone

Loved Vicki's two tone card that I spotted in the Annabelle stamps April Challenge entries.

This is my version ... done in a couple of minutes!

I will enter it in the Work it Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
