Wreath Wishes

I decided to ink up the Altenew Wonderful Wreath stencil for the first time. I mixed the greens - using distress inks : Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn & Lucky Clover.

I paired the stencil with the wonderful bold & funky "merry" from Winnie & Walter. I also die cut a foam one to make it pop more.

You can see the dimension with the angle shot.

I did hesitate about adding gloss accents to the berries, but decided not to do it and keep it simple.

Birthday Blooms

Sometimes you have a plan in your head about how you're going to make a card, but then it goes in a different direction.

I wanted to have flowers popped up, with a word die cut of of the flowers, but doubly popped up. But that didn't work too well ... the worlds just disappeared despite being lifted with kraft coloured foam.

So I thought I would try to offset them against the kraft ... not that much better!

So back to basics, and just use the kraft!

Ombre Hi

I have had new supplies coming in so fast! I find it helpful to go back to the cards and ideas that made me buy them in the first place.

I so enjoyed Seeka's idea of using one die behind the negative cuts of letter dies. So I pulled out one of my inked card fronts and went from there.

I obviously still had the actual letter dies left over.  I started by distressing them with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean in an ombre way.  Then I thought they needed some more details, so stamped the SSS Outline Leaves Background and embossed in white.  I coloured the leaves with white pencil which helped them stand out.

I love this Stampin' Up embossing folder - so subtle.

Bright Rainbow flowers

Inspired both by Angelica and the CAS(e) This Sketch.

I chose bright colours and used the different silhouette flowers in my stash. Added matching sequins along the way.

Rainbow Wishes

As a lover of rainbow colours I'm so happy about the challenge at CASology this week ... the cue word is COLOR.

I used Distress inks to paint stripes on the card stock.  I die cut the Winnie & Walter "happy" word in the rainbow painted card, white foam and black cardstock. I offset the black to create a shadow.

I matched the colours of the flowers with the placement of the colours of the word.

Come and check on the creations of the design team and be inspired. Looking forward to seeing your take on the cue word.

Spring Flowers

This is my first card with the sweet (free gift stamp set) WPlus9 Tossed Florals. Stamped on watercolour paper and embossed with white EP. Painted with Distress Inks. As I had originally not planned on painting the blue background, I painted over the lines so that the flowers and leaves would pop.

I decided to use the large "hi" die cut so that I would get the pattern. Added an offset die to make a shadow image, and embossed the background to add texture. I just love this Stampin Up Dynamic Ruffled 3D embossing folder. Colourful and bold yet still CAS.

Of course, you get two cards this way ... and here's the negative version.

Two very different looks from the same supplies!

Hi

I was so taken by Amanda's card, that I had to make my own version. I went with a a lovely cheery blue background. I used Distress Inks as watercolour.
