Spring Chicken

I have so many flower stamps (which I love) but these days, I'm also looking to see if I can make cards that bring a smile. We so need more smiles and laughter in these difficult times.

This Hey Chick set is such fun ... and I've taken artistic license with the colours. I didn't have Birthday Chicken set, so I typed up and printed my sentiment before die-cutting the sign.

Tag

It's been a while since I posted on my blog or instagram. I've had a lot going on in real life the last 9 months.

This is a card I made a while back as part of a series made by die-cutting card stock that I had distressed in rainbow colours - last one! (The first card can be found here, and the second set of 2 is here and the 3rd here).

Birthday Mandala 1 & 2

Getting some new supplies inked up ! I tried the Altenew Mandala Builder Set. It's 6" square.

I decided to try make 2 cards on the standard card size, so this is the first. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Word Mix.

The part I trimmed, was put on a new card.

It was only after I saw it displayed there amongst my other cards, that I thought I should have but some tea cups on top as if the pattern was part of a tablecloth!

My mind works slowly sometimes.

I added Nuvo Crystal Drops to add interest.

Christmas Wishes

Some ideas just take hold, and I loved the inspiration photo at The Card Concept.

It has lovely dimension.

The green cardstock I used has a lovely festive shimmer.

Pretty Proteas

I was so excited when I saw that Hero Arts came out with a Protea flower stamp set.  Since it's indigenous to South Africa, I didn't think any US stamp companies would ever create one. It was the first of my new Hero Arts order that inked up!

I was also inspired by the layers of Eva's card.  Instead of actual stitches on the top layer, I decided to use one of my stitch dies. I coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

CAS Quartet

I started playing with the flowers of the Alexandra Renke Welcome Butterfly set ... and I ended up with four cards!

I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I stamped 2 sets of the flower with leaf, and the 2 individual flowers.  The flowers had two tones of inks : started with the pale pink, then dabbed on a darker shade to the centre.

I like the curve of the flowers and leaf and thought it would look good along a frame.  I wanted to keep it light so used 2 of the Alexandra Renke Oval Angular frames.

The second card was inspired by the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. I wanted the bigger flower and cut out the leaves of the flower & leaf images.

Now that I had that little flower with 2 little leaves left ... and a tiny piece of ric rac ribbon, thought it was perfect for the CAS(e) This Sketch Challenge.

All I had left now was one big and 2 little flowers. Used the middle piece left over from the lace frame and added 2 die cut leaves.
