Everything's Beachy! Take 1

Living on a tropical island, it was a must to get Ellen Hutson's Everything's Beachy stamp set. I used the man with surf boards on this card.

Now it's the ladies' turn!

First on the beach (inspired by Carissa Wiley's card) but I went with the beach colours of beach sand and turquoise sea. I added the white edge of the waves with a gel pen.

This view is more from the sea towards the beach.

I wondered what it would look like from the beach looking towards the sea ... I'll do another card soon.

Sea Shell Wishes for you

Our beaches will be re-opening as of 1 July. Yay!

I used the smooshing technique to do the sand (with Antique Linen) and sea (Speckled Egg). I stamped the ink pad on a sheet of plastic, spritzed with some water and then smooshed it on the card. I also added some splatters afterwards to give some more texture.

Beach Shaker Card

I've had some beach sand in a container in my studio since one of my kids did a school project ... and that was at least 6 years ago! I've been meaning to make a shaker card with it, and now is the time.

See how the sand moves ...

And the inside ...

Rotating flowers

It's been a while since I used the rotating technique. I had done it with a stencil which I cut with my Silhouette (see HERE), but I'm using the Gina K Mini Wreath Builder for this one.

After creating the wreath I fussy cut the outer edge an die cut a circle inside so I could pop it up.

Turn - A - Bout

It's time for a new challenge at CASology, and our cue word is TURN. There are so many ways to take this ... turning objects like bicycle wheels, turning dancers ... making something on your card turn ... or, as I chose, using TURNabout stamps. Come, take a turn, and join in the fun.

As turnabout stamping repeats the images, which means it can become quite busy, I decided to keep to one tone.

I also did some turnabout stamping for my sentiment.

Sparkle and Shine

Another week rolls by and it's time for a new CASology challenge. This week the cue word is FROZEN

Since I'm still in the Southern hemisphere sweltering summer, I was thinking of going with a popsicle ice-cream stick - except I didn't have one!! Then I remembered I have the simply super sparkly Hero Arts snowfall glitter that hasn't been out of it's bottle yet.

I started by using embossing paste on the Gina K stencil, then sprinkled the Snowfall glitter. Added a Snow Flurries die to the centers and some sequins for extra sparkle.

It would be a wonderful if you popped along to visit the rest of the Design Team.
