On the sea ...

When I make a set of cards as a gift, I put in cards that suit the receiver. Most of us need masculine cards at some point. My friend's husband has a boat, so I thought this would be a good one to add in the gift set.

(Note : This is a half size card which fits perfectly into the Concord & 9th Love notes envelope)

Little Lavender Fields

I had made a card with the Hero Arts layering lavender fields but I wondered if it would also work on a smaller card as I was making a mini set of cards for a gift.

It came out way better than I thought it would. I was worried that the fields would lose their sense of depth, but it was not the case.

Here is a comparison between the normal size and half size cards.

Birthday Chick

A Happy Birthday Chick ... with a daisy and a string of rainbow hearts.

Coloured with my Prismacolor pencils - love that it works so well on kraft cardstock.

Upgrading a card ...

When those big Birthdays come around, you need to up the ante. I had a lovely rose gatefold card, but I wanted to make it extra special.  So I added numbers from the Concord & 9th Double cut numbers die set. I love that you can give that extra pop.

I felt the rose needed to be more grounded so added a knotted string along the green base.

I also made an envelope to match.

Blossoms and Butterflies

It's my last post as guest designer for the month for CAS Colours & Sketches.  This week there is a sketch challenge.

I used the ink and spritz technique.

Here are the supplies I used ... with the Alexandra Renke Welcome Butterflies stamp set.

Woohoo!

I have quite a few friends becoming grandparents ... and so I'm in need of more cute baby and kids cards.  So I have a few new cute sets and I'm combining different sets.

And a second one with the same set ...

And one with the 2 together.
