Feather

CASology has their new challenge for this fortnight, and the cue word is FEATHER.

I found this wonderful stamp by Club Scrap in my stash.  I don't think I've ever used it before.

I inked it up with Distress Markers and gave a very light spritz.

I just love the sentiments from the Uniko "Wonderful Day" set. A lovely mix of fonts. I layered the sentiment to preserve white space.

Added a couple of drops of Liquid Pearls in matching colours.

Here you can see the sparkle.

Float on over and check on the creations of the design team and be inspired. Looking forward to seeing your take on the cue word.

I will also enter this to ...

Noël 2

He's my other card from my stamped patterned paper (see HERE).

I used half of one of the frames to create the idea of a wreath.

I added red foam to both pop it up and give that extra detail.

Noël 1

It may be in Christmas colours but it's not done using Christmas stamps. These flowers made me thing of Christmas berries. I was going to stamp a small panel down one side of the card, but once I got inking I thought I might as well finish the whole card front. I inked up with Distress markers and spritzed.

I die cut white and black letters and offset them to create a shadow. Some dripping stickles give a frosty Christmas shimmer.

And of course I get a bonus card from the die cut ... come back tomorrow to see it.

Imagine the Blessings

So many stamps ... so little time. So when I see a challenge that is ideal for one of my favourite stamps, especially if it has been in my stash for a while, it makes me happy to get it out of storage and inked.

I used my Distress Markers to ink the stamp, gave it a spritz of water and stamped.

Since there was quite a lot of ink left on the stamp after the first card, I decided to re-spritz and do another.  I think I may prefer the lighter shades. What do you think?

Combining two challenges ... using Distress Markers directly on the stamp.

Distress ...

I was so happy to see that this week's challenge as CAS-ology is Distress. I wanted to try Jennifer's Distress Ink lift technique with embossing.

It certainly lends itself to lovely bright colours, which is perfect for Easter and spring.

I made up one panel of the flowers, but decided I could get two cards out of it. I die cut a bunch of the Impression Obsession bunnies, and the Simon Says Stamp Tiny flowers and leaves.

I wanted to have Easter blessings as my sentiment, but didn't anything. So Silhouette saved the day once again!

Song Inspiration 2

I wasn't sure that I had read the Muse Challenge #151 correctly, so I have made a second card ... this time both inspired by a song, AND by Michele's card.

I've stayed with Zach Sobiech's song "Clouds".

I've put Wink of Stella on the thin lined clouds.

The verse goes ...

And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
We'll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now

Real cards have been flying across the world again with the CCC. Mine has gone to Jo in the UK.

This month I was inspired by the colours and the sketch :

Using new things

I have so many new things, I am way behind in using them! So today I played with my new Altenew Vintage flowers, and Papertrey Ink Smooch word die. The Blueprint Sketch Distress pen is also a new addition to my stash.

Shine your light ...

Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of weeks ... real life is really busy at the moment. I feel as I'm juggling a lot of balls. This week I also started the Metabolism diet - but my was I a grizzly bear with headaches and tiredness from the detoxing!  I feel like giving up everyday just to have some tea, biscuits, cake, choc.... but since I have lost 2Kgs - yes 2Kgs  - in 4 days, I'll just have to keep going.

A card for a First Communion ... inspired by an old stamp from PSX with this sentiment (remember those days!).

I inked up my Hero Arts background stamp with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade, added some Ripe Persimmon with the markers and spritzed. This was a MISTI Moment, as my friend Bronwyn calls it. I find my background stamps stick so well to the MISTI, and if they don't stamp perfectly the first time, you can always stamp again ... in EXACTLY the same spot. Heaven!

I die cut a panel out from the background so I could mount it up and add some interest.

I set up the sentiment in Silhouette and printed it. So easy to make the shadows. I took JM's idea of using foam to mount up the panel, but decided to use an orange one to add that touch of colour.

I'm entering this to the Less is More : Sunshine Challenge.
