Pastel Rainbow Blossom ... and the Negative

I've had some questions on how I made the Rainbow Blossom, so I made another one and took photos of the steps.

Step 1 : Paint a background. This time I used Distress Inks instead of watercolours to paint the background.

Step 2 : Die cut the painted background plus a plain white card stock. The card stock had stayed in the die cut, and I put a piece of sticky back paper which kept all the pieces in place.

Step 3 : Glue the die cut white card stock to your card.

Step 4 : Glue the painted pieces into the corresponding places on the card.

Step 5 : Add a sentiment and button embellishment. This time I die cut some "buttons", doubled them up and added glossy accents to make them more realistic.

You can also use the negative die cut to make another card.

Ombre Butterfly flight

So happy with the cue word at CASology Challenge this week - it's Butterfly! And I love butterflies. A bit of a challenge in deciding which butterfly I would use from my stash of stamps and dies ... so many choices.

To keep things CAS, I decided to go with a monochrome colour theme, and took out a sheet of the wonderful ombre paper of Echo Park.

CASology #266 : Cake

Time for cake! This week's CASology challenge is CAKE. Who can resist a good cake? What is your favourite?  I think mine is carrot cake, or my grandmother's Cinnamon topped cake.

Coloured with Prismacolor Pencils.

I added Liquid pearls to make some delicious looking frosting, and layered the cake to give dimension.

CASology #251 : Medicine

I hope that no one is sick ... but if you are, here's a warm bowl of chicken soup. It might not cure you, but it warms your heart and it's good for the soul.

This week's cue word for the CASology Challenge is Medicine.

If you need a little medicinal help, pop on over to our design team members and see their inspiration.

Mom

Since I started stamping over 20 years ago, I'm much more at home with my stamps than dies. Getting to use some of my "new" diecuts that have been sitting here for weeks if not months.

I will enter this to Freshly Made Sketch challenge

and The Paper Players Challenge
