Metallic Wishes

Sometimes when things don't go as planned and you need to "fix" it, then you come up with something more than you expected.  I had done some ink and spritz stamping that I hadn't sprayed enough water. So it had a blotchy finish where you could see the ink lines.  In order to hide them, I broke open my brand new gliding flakes.

Love the finish!

Trying to capture the wonderful shine on the gilding flakes ...

Thanks

I am so happy to be a Guest Designer at CAS Colours & Sketches this month.

This week is a Colour Challenge ...

I used distress inks with the ink and spritz technique with the solid stamp.  The outline stamp was stamped in Versamark and embossed with Brown embossing powder.

Masculine and Feminin Versions

I'm so happy to be up as guest designer at Color Throwdown this week.

When I came to do my card, I remembered the colours were grey, blue and orange, and went with a floral card. But when I went back to look at the inspiration photo, I thought I should have gone with something more in a clean graphic theme. So I have also made a masculine version.

I started with grey cardstock, and stamped Pinkfresh Studio Dainty Botanicals in grey and blue. Then I moved back to white cardstock and I stamped flowers from The Stamp Market Botanicals stamp set, and tiny flowers from Concord & 9th "Love you. Mean it." stamp set, in grey ink and coloured with copics. The solid leaves were partially inked and spritzed with water.

For the more masculine version, stamped up the stripes using Impression Obsession Thick Stripes in grey and trimmed. I stamped the triangle pattern from Ellen Hutson Wonky Backgrounds in blue. Stamped the "wheels" in SSS Apricot, and cut out. Popped everything up on foam.

I will also enter this to ...

Celebrate - Brights and Pastels

I started making a card, and I got a bonus one on the way.

Added some Nuvo glitter gloss to the wings. Hard to capture on camera.

When I had stamped my first card with the solid leaves, there was still lots of ink on the stamp. So I gave it another little spritz and stamped on a new card.  So much softer.

Are you a BRIGHTS person or a PASTELS person?

May CCC Reveal

It's time for the Card Chain Challenge May Reveal!
My card went off to Jerrie in Wisconsin.  I do so love sharing cards with those who share my passion.

I didn't think I would really like the colour combination, but in the end I LOVED it!

I started out stamping 2 sets of flowers from the Botanical flower set using the ink and spritz technique to get the watercolour effect.  (I used the rest of the flower on THIS and THIS card.)

I dropped ink on a small panel and let it run down. Once dry, I embossed it with the lines embossing folder.

I think this card is my favourite of the three.

You still have time to join in for The June CCC Challenge! Who knows, maybe I'll get a card from you!

Hero Arts 45th Anniversary - Card 2 - Tiny Blocks

I'm mixing up the old with the new, and Hero Arts with The Stamp Market. I love how Hero Arts encourages and collaborates with other companies in the craft business.

More tributes to the wonderful Hero Arts golden oldies but still firm favourites!

When you have small stamps, a fun way to use them is to repeat, repeat, repeat! But you don't have to do it in a uniform manner.

Paired up with the new-to-me The Stamp Market set called Botanicals. I used the ink and spritz technique.
