Oceans of Love

It's time for a new challenge at CASology, and we bring you the cue word of OCEAN. This is a TWO WEEK challenge, so you have until 1 April to submit your card.

My mother signs her letters and cards "Oceans of love", so I had to use that as my inspiration.

It's not that easy to see, but three of the hearts are popped up, and I applied glossy accents just to those 3.

I created my own digi sentiment, and you're welcome to copy it if you wish.

Come and see the OCEAN creations of the design team. Looking forward to seeing your take on the cue word.

Stocking Fillers ...

It's an oldie, but a goodie and too much fun not to repeat! Snowman Poop Tic Tacs ... a sweet stocking filler.

It's thanks to Whimsie Doodles for the digital images.

I colour mine to suit the recipient's favourite colour. The set for my book club...

CASology #263 : Bud

The CASology Challenge word cue this week is BUD, and is sponsored by Kitty Bee Designs. It's worth a pop over to see her cute designs. The little cows are adorable.

One of the digital stamps we got to use was this Flower for you Bunny. So sweet I had to make 2 cards. Even with digital stamps, you don't have to keep the image upright. You don't have to use the whole image either. Thought she would look cute peeking in to say Hi!

I have 2 friends who's daughter's are having their first child. One had her son a week ago and the other will have to wait until November for her bundle of joy.

It's always worth a visit to the rest of the Design Team to get inspired ...

Digital Lucky Draw

After playing in the Hero Arts Flickr Group 90 minute scramble on Saturday, I got the lucky draw for a Hero Arts Digikit. I've only made one card with a digital stamp before, so I thought it was time to try out the lovely botanical flowers I received. I love the tulip, so I started with that. Of course, the big advantage is that you can change the size . . . and I discovered, also the colour or brightness. I was only working in Word as I've yet to get Photoshop Elements (even though it's been on my wish list for a while).

I discovered you can't colour with any water based medium (pentel, watercolour or distress inks) as it makes the print run.

So the first is with watercolour pencils, without using any water on it. So could have used ordinary pencils if I had them. Printed image quite small, all in a row.

On an off chance I tried Copics (and I'm an absolute beginner), thinking there is no ways they would work. But voila! No problem! Love how the Distress Inks Pumice Stone colour gives a neutral look. Then on the inside I printed on about 80% transparency giving a pale grey so I could stamp my message on top.

And here's the pair so you can see the different sizes
