Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

I love butterflies ... and lots of them! And a whole a bunch of them is called a kaleidoscope!

I wanted to create a sense of movement as they seldom stay still for long! Instead of a closed circle (for the wreath) I went with a spiral.

My entry for ...

... Fusion Challenge : Butterfly wreath I took a loose interpretation of the sketch, with the photo too.

Mandala Wishes

I'm using more new stash again ... Distress Brushes and the lovely Altenew Acetate Butterflies.

I began by sponging (and Distress brushing) behind the Mandala die. I wanted to match the butterfly to the red/orange center, so I took the clear one and coloured with Copics. To clear up the lines made by the markers, I put some blending solution on the felt and dabbed to blend the colours.  I used a earbud with blending solution to wipe up the edges.

I organised my Distress Brushes in Rainbow order - plus brown. I used Copics to mark a circle on the end, and washi tape around the bases. Makes it easy to find the one I want.

Butterfly waterfall card

It's been quite a while since I made a waterfall card, but this week's CASology challenge inspired me to get inter-ACTIVE!

In order to keep it CAS, I kept it to white pages and a white embossed panel for the holding strip.

I would have made it the true 7 colours of the rainbow if I hadn't run out of yellow and purple dotted paper. Amazing that we can have so much paper, yet still not have what we need.

Pop on over to the design team to get more inspiration ... and then get active and joining the fun!

Rainbow Butterflies

I was playing with the PTI Life is Beautiful stamp set this morning (borrowed from my friend, Bronwyn).

I was inspired by the picture that Laura Bassen posted for the CASE Study 4th Anniversary Blog hop (but I missed that deadline!).

I will be entering this for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Summer".
