Angled

The Hero Arts Flickr Group had Card Scramble #128 this weekend. Barb had the theme of Angles. Although I had the arrow background stamp for a while now, I've never used it. I stamped it on 3 colours of blue and turquoise and embossed with Liquid Platinum. Arrows have angles ... and I cut up the background and set the arrows at an angle too.

Here is an angled shot to try and catch that lovely embossed colour.

Hosting the Card Scramble

It was my turn to host the Hero Arts Flickr Group card scramble this week.

I decided that the theme would be to use pages from a book on the card. It could be stamped, diecut, embossed, whatever you wanted.

I made 4 examples. The first was to use the paper as a background with neutral stamping.

The second card, I stamped on the book paper again, but this time I coloured in the image with Prisma coloured pencils. I used the same stamp as the background, matching the pattern.

The next card, I diecut many butterflies and distressed the edges, alternating the colours. The top die was also stamped, adding Wink of stella to the dots. I inked up the background grid stamp using distress markers, using Picked Raspbery on 2 sides of the squares, and Ripe Persimmon on the other 2. Spritzed it generously before stamping.

A close up of the layers of wings, and shimmer on the dots.

The last card, I used an embossing folder on the book page. The embossing was not that noticeable, so I sponged over it with Distress Ink to make it stand out more. I used the Hero Arts branch die, and flowers, adding Liquid Pearl yellow dots. (I was so happy the "Ebersole" was in the writing as I'm a fan of Julie Ebersole's cards, videos and laughter!)

Late night Scrambles

I wasn't planning on playing the Hero Arts Flickr Group Card Scramble 91 last night as it was starting at 12:20am my time ... but I thought I'd have a quick peek before going to bed. And I got hooked! Cat had this wonderful inspiration photo.

Love the colour combo! And the patterns.

So here are my 2 takes. The first was a small 3.5" x 3.5" card.

The second one a bit larger at 5" x 5".

I got them in a little passed the deadline as my computer went into "rainbow ball spinning" mode. So frustrating!

When I looked this morning, I thought it needed a little something so I added Black enamel accents to the centre of the larger flowers, and pen dots to the tiny ones.

Card Scramble

Linda is hosting this card scramble over on the Hero Arts Flickr Group. Her theme is dots. I wasn't going to play as it's quite late, but I can't resist dots!

Started with a more arty one ... paint splatters, and spritzing my stamps.

Then decided to use some of my large Hero Arts dots stash of stamps in a more crisp CAS design.

After seeing it on screen, thought it needed more balance.

Which do you think is better?

And thanks to Ardyth for giving me the heads up, I'll be entering the last one in the Simplicity One Layer "Frame" challenge. It also meets the criteria at the Less is More Over the edge one layer challenge.
