Book Club Christmas

We had our book club Christmas dinner this week. The colour theme this year was blue and white.

A friend gifted me the Papertrey Ink Storybook Christmas which was perfect timing. I changed up one of the book titles for each person's name so I could use them as Place Names.

Quite a mission ... to get 13 place names, I stamped and die cut 117 pieces, then glued them all together. But it was worth it!

Serendipitously I had blue place name holders in shape of a bauble.

Here's the table decorations.

Cups of Tea

I recently turned 60 and decided to celebrate with a ladies lunch... 22 of us! My friend, Nadia, arranged the flowers on the table in my Royal Doulton Memory Lane tea set. My mother gave me this on my engagement all those years ago!

I decided to use the Altenew Vintage Teacup as my nameplates.  (Thank you Sandy Allnock for teaching us how to shade them - looks so real!)

I made little "tea bag tags" with the names.

I ordered the roses, but the Plumbago, Blue Peter, White Pentas are from my garden.

I love cold soup, so I gave everyone the choice for the starter between cucumber soup (with or without smoked salmon) or gazpacho.

Since I love tea so much, thought I'd make some teacups using some patterned paper. I have so much of it, but I rarely use it. So this is a different take on my "normal" ink and stamps approach.

Here are the 2 together - very different looks.

Christmas Name Place Cards

We had our Book Club Christmas Dinner last week. My friend and fellow stamper, Bronwyn, had volunteered to make the name place cards. She designed the cards using the Ellen Hutson Bookworm lady. I helped a little by printing names on cardstock before die cutting the tags, and colouring the ladies.

She attached the apple so they could hang from the wine glasses.

Each of us added our little gifts around the place setting.

Since Bronwyn had gone with the book theme, I had to put my chocolate in a little "book" box. I was inspired by Darcy Miller's little Book Favors. She did provide a PDF to print and make your own, but they were not the right size for my little chocolate so I made my own.

Here's my place setting with all the goodies ... we were so spoilt!

Our beautiful table.
