Swoon!

Tuesday means it time for a new CASology Challenge! This week's word is SWOON. I thought it would be good to get a definition ...

swoon
swuːn/
verb
  1. 1
    literary
    faint, especially from extreme emotion.

"Frankie's mother swooned and had to be helped to the headmaster's office"
  2. 2
be overcome with admiration, adoration, or other strong emotion.

"women swoon over his manly, unaffected ways"

I went with the second definition ... overcome with emotion ... Kaboom!

Album Finished!

Whew! Finally finished the wedding album my friend asked me to do. I love making cards and layouts in the style that the receiver would like. She loves simple yet vintage look ... lots of lace, pearls and flourishes in creams, white. So I grabbed some white, cream and vanilla cardstock and went straight to my Silhouette. Cut out lots of scrolls, flourishes, roses, frames and words. Then I got script & flourish stamps, ribbons, lace, embossing powder and pearls and was ready to go.

I can't share the pages with the photos, but here are some sneak peeks.

Loved the soft look of pearl embossing powder giving a tone on tone look.

I used vellum with the the Hero Arts medallion embossing folder, then fussy cut it and topped with Silhouette cut flourishes, lace and pearls.

I loved how this page turned out ... the Penny Black scroll border was the perfect touch at the bottom of the photo.

The next page I used a lot of different embossing folders and inlayed Silhouette die cuts.

More embossing, lace, Silhouette print and cuts ...

Silhouette cut wedding rings. This was a wonderful shimmer gold cardstock from Club Scrap.

For the page coming out of the church, confetti shaker tags!

The Silhouette does amazingly fine cuts.

The roses ... and great that you can vary the sizes.

Wonderful sentiment from Penny Black ... with vellum over to make it soft.

For the pictures under the rain and umbrellas.

Embossed paper and die cuts.

One of my absolutely favourite flourish stamps from Inkadinkado. So light and lovely.

And couldn't resist using the WPlus9 peonies.

Now I had better start my wedding album (even though I have been married for 26 years!)

Snoopy

I've got my Snoopy back ... after nearly 4 weeks at training! And he is a changed, calm dog now. We still have daily practise to reinforce his new behaviour, but he has made wonderful progress in just 25 days.

And to go with the sketch challenge at Clean & Simple

Here's 2 wishes of Merry Christmas from Snoopy.

Getting Triangular!

My submission for the OLW68 : Get triangular challenge on Susan's Simplicity Blog. This card didn't start out for this challenge. Just stamped the Merry Christmas (à la Susan), coloured it and gave it a shadow but then spotted the bird and added 2 of those! Both are Inkadinkadoo stamps.

So 3 stamped images, 3 blings, and a skewed triangle.

OLW51 - Three of a Kind

A lovely challenge from Jennifer's OLW this week. Make 3 cards using the same stamp. Got to love that!

First time I'm using this stamp from Inkadinkado, and one of the sentiment wordings of Club Scrap that I love  . . .  first card . . .

Second card I decided to use distress inks on a shadow stamp, and a line pattern (inspired by Susan) from Club Scrap - not as chic as hers, but one's got to use what one's got!

Thirdly, I love playing with the distress inks so kept going! Adding flourish from Stampin' Up and script writing from Paper Chain in South Africa.

I bought the swan stamp to be used for my blog header, and this challenge helped me bring it all together. Thanks for the comments.
