Easter ...

I wanted to make a special Easter card for my Mother and Mother-in-love this year, so I browsed Pinterest for some inspiration. There are so many beautiful cards out there, but this one by Kay Miller struck a cord with me.

I cut my crosses in Silhouette and used the More Fresh Cuts from WPlus9 for my flowers. The rays in background are Hero Arts Starburst Background.

I made 2 with the crosses having opposite colours as the top and offset. The first one I started by shading my background with HA Soft Sky, but my sponge had some turquoise residue so the colour was not true.

I made sure I had a clean sponge for the second card.

I split the Art Impressions sentiment by masking the bits I didn't want to stamp, so I had the beginning of the message on the front, and the rest inside.

I will enter this to the ...

Marilyn's Card

My friend, Marilyn, showed me the card she made this week and I had to show-case it. Such a bright beauty.

She used the technique of stamping an outline stamp image, and then offset stamping a solid stamp in colours.

It will make a great entry to the ColourQ challenge

Oh Happy Day

Sneaking in with a quick post to the Ellen Pin-sights Challenge

Hugs

The March CCC Challenge inspired me to use my new PTI Hugs die and stamp set.

I went with the colour palette and the sketch.

I was so happy to be sending this to Asha in Portugal. First time I've sent a card there.

Things I love about ....

I made one of these "Things I love about you" albums for my eldest daughter, then my second daughter, and now it is time for one for my son. I think it's a great gift for your teenager - they need reminding that we do love them and see the many good, funny and original attributes that they possess.

I grabbed some masculine stamps sets (WPlus9 So 80's, Hero Arts Alphabets, Arrows, Borders, Paint splatters) and added texture and colour to my pre-printed pages. The tin is from a Club Scrap project - been in my stash so long, I can't remember which one.

When I needed to get the mustard colour on the dark paper, I embossed in Gold Pearl.

Silhouette die cuts are great ...

Colouring with Prisma pencils ... and using the new WPlus9 cloud die cuts.

Love this Clarity Stamps stencils ... got it just in time!

My son's 18th

How times flies! My last child, my son, turned 18 today! Officially I don't have any "child"ren anymore ... all adults now.

I had to make him a special Birthday card for this milestone ... and what better set than the WPlus9 "So 80's" stamp set. Add a few tie die cuts, and voila :

I added glossy accents to the "18" circle, and the middle small stars. The tie die-cuts are popped up on foam to give dimension.

I'll enter this in the WPlus9 Throwback Thursday Challenge. Always good to use old favourites.

Soft Florals

Had to play in the Color Throwdown Challenge  - such lovely colours.

I will also enter it in the Paper Players : CAS Florals Challenge.

Soft thoughts

A quick CAS card for the Paper Players : CAS Floral Challenge.

I love this "Softly" Stamp from Penny Black - gives so much space to breath; and the Kaiserkraft tiny dictionary text - gives a touch of detail without making it too busy.

Celebrate Tropical Style 2

It was only went I posted my Celebrate Tropical Style 1 that I realised the top blue shading was too heavy! I wanted to do it again, but then decided I would just do something with the shaded die cut circle.

More in keeping with CAS challenge at CAS-ology :Tropical.
