Lockdown Greetings

We're now on day 43 of strict lockdown - out of the red zone, but still pretty much blocked at home except for our 2 shopping days a week. I'm getting tired of this second round, so needed something with a bit a humour.

I do give myself a little talking to now and again to remind me that I have so much to be thankful for, and we're not nearly in as bad situation as those who've lived through wars or those stuck in refugee camps.

So here's a hello from lockdown!

Could not resist another shadow box ... I wanted to use my NBUS Hero Arts Paper Layering Window Shutters die!

Cheers!

And if you want to see it in action ...

Birthday Windows

I'm using the Hero Arts Peek-a-boo windows die with their Birthday stamps. Kept it to a blue/green palette so I could use it for a masculine card, and used the emboss resist technique for the card front.

Kept to the same palette of colours for the inside.

Book Lover Birthday

Our book club has been going for 21 years and I keep a lookout for book related stamps.  The Hero Arts Bookcase stamp pairs up beautifully with their Pee-a-Boo die. So much fun.

I coloured with Copics.  Here's the front having being diecut.

But I thought that a birthday needs a message.  I couldn't stick a message over it as it would prevent a window from being opened.  So I decided that I needed something that could be opened.

I diecut the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday and coloured with Delicata gold.  I mounted it on an embossed vellum. I found a lot of people don't like tying bows, so I decided to use the string tie system that just needs to be looped.

When was the last time you used a brad?!

Good to be using up the stash!

Here I've unlooped the gold string ...

With the windows open ...

I'm delighted to see the Matryoshka dolls (also known as Babushka dolls, stacking dolls, nesting dolls, Russian tea dolls, or Russian dolls) as 2 of our members have just been to Russia!

Wildflowers

Ink and spritz is one of my favourite techniques. Love how it gives the watercolour effect.

A pretty CAS card front ...

But a lovely pop up scene inside ...
