Birthday Blooms

Some delicate birthday blooms ... some left white, some stamped with the ink and spritz technique.

Coloured Birthday Windows

Following on from my ombre Birthday Windows card, I thought it would be fun to colour with Copics.

Great idea for kids!

It has the bonus of not just opening a card - but opening 25 mini cards or windows! I matched the messages to the same colour scheme as the front.

And added some Tonic Nuvo shimmer .

Spring Flower

A light and lovely die cut - coloured with Distress Oxides and Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes.

This is actually a half size card that fits the Concord & 9th Envelope die.

Birthday Windows

I'm using the Hero Arts Peek-a-boo windows die with their Birthday stamps. Kept it to a blue/green palette so I could use it for a masculine card, and used the emboss resist technique for the card front.

Kept to the same palette of colours for the inside.

Beautiful Birthday

Sometimes the creating process takes off on it's own.  I was die cutting the flowers, and it happened that the washi tape I was using to hold down the dies in position was the green grid one.  And "Voila!" thought that would go so well with the flowers.

For the background, I mixed in some distress inks into the embossing paste and used a leaf stencil.

I first water-coloured the flowers with Distress Inks, but then thought it was a bit pale.  Here's the before photo...

So I added highlights with Prismacolor pencils. And black enamel accents to the centres.

Birthday Chick

A Happy Birthday Chick ... with a daisy and a string of rainbow hearts.

Coloured with my Prismacolor pencils - love that it works so well on kraft cardstock.

50th Birthday Celebration

I have a 50th Birthday celebration this weekend. It's for a guy so keeping it simple.

I added shadows to the background images to give more depth.

I actually split the original sentiment by adding the Double cut numbers from Concord and 9th.  Red border was coloured with Copics, and the inside with Silver Liquid Pearl. Love the metallic look it gives to the card.
