Birthday Blooms

Some delicate birthday blooms ... some left white, some stamped with the ink and spritz technique.

Beautiful Birthday

Sometimes the creating process takes off on it's own.  I was die cutting the flowers, and it happened that the washi tape I was using to hold down the dies in position was the green grid one.  And "Voila!" thought that would go so well with the flowers.

For the background, I mixed in some distress inks into the embossing paste and used a leaf stencil.

I first water-coloured the flowers with Distress Inks, but then thought it was a bit pale.  Here's the before photo...

So I added highlights with Prismacolor pencils. And black enamel accents to the centres.

Two takes ...

Sometimes you get on a roll with ideas ... loved the inspiration at Le Creablablablog!

Using more of my NBUS ... the two different leaf dies & Altenew Plaid stencil.

Adding doodles to the flowers ...

The second card with the eucalyptus leaves and Uniko flower.

Ombre Hi

I have had new supplies coming in so fast! I find it helpful to go back to the cards and ideas that made me buy them in the first place.

I so enjoyed Seeka's idea of using one die behind the negative cuts of letter dies. So I pulled out one of my inked card fronts and went from there.

I obviously still had the actual letter dies left over.  I started by distressing them with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean in an ombre way.  Then I thought they needed some more details, so stamped the SSS Outline Leaves Background and embossed in white.  I coloured the leaves with white pencil which helped them stand out.

I love this Stampin' Up embossing folder - so subtle.
