Blossom Fix up

I hadn't looked at the inside or back of my Blush Blossom card ... and the ink had seeped through. I wasn't about to throw it away, so recovered it by mounting it at the trending angle on black.

In fact, I think it's better. So many times when I'm fixing my mistakes, I find something new or better.

Blush Blossoms

CAS-ology is having a Blush Challenge. I have just received the new soft colours of Hero Arts daubers and the pastel pink paired with the Dauber Bunch stamp set is perfect for this challenge.

(It was only afterwards that I noticed the dauber ink had caused the black ink to seep through ... see my Blossom Fix Up here)

Fusion 6

Fusion Challenge #6

I decided to do both using a stencil made from a diecut left over from this card, and make it one layer by masking the square.

OL Spring Flower

Another card for the Less is More : One Layer Spring Flower Challenge, and the One-Layer Simplicity : Just Add Water Challenge.

Tea for Two?

Thought I'd nip in a card just in time for the Fusion Challenge. Must have missed the deadline by minutes! O well, I'll just have a cuppa.

Inspired the yellow and turquoise dots, black outline drawings and the tea cups.

Iris

I have had this Iris stamp for ages, but never got round to using it. But what better time, than for SPRING! And the Less is More : One Layer Spring Flower Challenge, and the One-Layer Simplicity : Just Add Water Challenge.

I used Distress Markers as my ink. To start off, I spritzed a bit too much water, but that gives a more artsy look. I added pearls to give a centre as it had lost the details, and some black lines.

I wasn't so happy about the mix of colours as I had used Seedless Preserves instead of Dusty Concord by mistake. So the next attempt was with the Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac.

This time I thought there was not enough water on the petals! So third time lucky ...

By adding the words below the flower, I thought it would work well for the CASology : Roots Challenge too.

Which look do you prefer?

Painted Stencil

Since watercolours are so "in", I have been playing with my stencils and paint to see what effects I get. I wasn't sure I'd be able to use them, as I thought it would give a really messy look. And it does! But that can be artsy too .... and when you stencil is covered with paint you can use it as a stamp too. Then, and only then, do you wash it!

So I have lots of pieces of stenciled and stencil-stamped pieces. This is one of the stencil-stamped pieces. Then I used Distress markers to ink up the butterfly stamp and gave a spritz of water before stamping.

My last card for Virginia's View Challenge : Watercolour challenge! Thanks Virginia - loved this challenge.

Spring Flower

A quick post as it's 2:35am here! (Just been playing in the Hero Arts Flickr Group card scramble!)

More watercolouring, so will add it to Virginia's View Challenge too.

Watercolour Effect

Virginia has started her own monthly challenge, Virginia's View Challenge, and the debut challenge is watercolouring.

My first attempt (because I know I'll be doing more for this one) is using distress inks and spritzing to give the watercolour effect.

Feb CCC

I love playing in Deborah's Card Chain Challenge (CCC to us regulars). This month I went with the sketch and the Friends theme. Joy gets my card this time.

I flipped the sketch and made it smaller on the card.

If you want to join in the fun and get the real thing, why not pop over and sign up for the March CCC?!
