Super CAS one layer

I gave the challenge of "one of 9 rectangles" quite some thought as I didn't want my butterfly to look trapped in a square. So I decided it should go off the edge.

Monogram

It's my friend, Lesley's Birthday and thought I'd go for a monogram card.

This is a one layered card using my very old large alphabet from Hero Arts, and masking with The Greetery Birthday Blooms, and then I embossed with my NBUS Altenew Frame.

I used to Copics to colour the letter and make shadows.

This was my first attempt ... can you spot the error?

Easier to see on the close-up! I didn't mask the flowers when I was doing the distressing around the circle!

I'm sneaking in under the wire with this card. I've had this Dot Art stamp set for over a year and it's the first time I'm using it.  I've got many more un-inked!! Got some work ahead of me.

I love how these bright colours go with the sentiment off the Trendy Circles set.

Christmas in July

My second Christmas card for this year.  Using the fun summery SSS Warm Christmas Wishes set - perfect for Christmas in July, and perfect for sending from Mauritius come Christmas time. It's a NBUS for me.

A little masking to keep it to a one layer card. 

Some enamel accents to give the lights some pop.

Cas(e)ing Cards

When I spotted the light and lovely card by Amber, I got itchy fingers to case her card! (Thank you Amber for the wonderful inspiration and tips!)

It will be a while before I can get my hands on the new Build-a-Flower : Primrose set that she used, so I dug in my stash to find a substitute. I decided on a flower from the Build-a-Flower : Anemone Coronaria set. I used the Uniko Birthday Wishes set. 

When I was making another, I didn't realise that my card was upside down! So I had to cut and thought that since it was no longer a one layer card, I might as well change it up a little. I mounted it on matching blue card stock.  

I think I still prefer the plain white.
