Fresh as a Daisy

Don't you love the simplicity of a simple daisy?!

Added Wink of Stella to the daisy petals, but so difficult to catch on camera.

Book Lover

It's time for a new challenge at CASology.  The cue word this fortnight is FLIP.

As a book lover and avid reader, I'm going with flipping the pages of a book. I created the book marks with the Concord & 9th Bags & tags die set. To keep things really simple and CAS, I just made slits in the card to hold the bookmark.

For the second card, I changed up the colour combo and made a pocket for the bookmark.

Now it's time to flip over to the Design Team and see their wonderful creations.

Golf!

It's another summer fortnight's challenge at CASology starting today with the cue word of SPORTS. A great opportunity to make a masculine card! There is normally a shortage of masculine cards in my box, so I made three cards.

I'm breaking out 2 of my NBUS sets (never before used stuff) ... Papertrey Ink On the Links stamp & die set, and the Memory Box golf carts dies.

For my first card I contained my mini scene on a small rectangle to keep it CAS. The golf ball is a very old foam-mounted rubber stamp. It no longer has any markings and I can't remember where it came from, but it my favourite and most realistic golf ball.

For the second card, I kept it CAS by only using dies (except for the sentiment).

For the last card, I used repeating technique with the small "tee" stamp and the strips from Ombre Builders.

I can't decide which one I'll give my husband for his Birthday.

Now it's time to pop over to the Design Team and see what sports they are showcasing.

Time for a Cuppa ....

I always have time for a cuppa tea! How about you?

Pearl Embossing

A quick card for the Muse Challenge ... I focused on embossed flowers on a panel; instead of sequins, I stamped dots and embossed.

I did this in 3 stages stamping everything with Versamark, but using 3 colours of pearl embossing powder ... blue, green and silver. If you use these powders on dark cardstock, it really pops.

Pantone Color Trend

I was so taken with the lovely colours of the Pantone Color Trend Challenge at Ellen Hutson ... and been wanting to get out the Wonky Backdrops stamp set for a while now. Some distress inks and a spritz of water gives a lovely watercolour effect.

I popped up the panel on pink foam to give added interest.

Quick Cards

A super quick card ... or two!

Masked off the left and both, and brushed on Hero Arts Cornflower ink with the wonderful Clarity brush. Inked, spritzed the flower, added a sentiment and couple of enamel accents.

Thought it might be better to have the flower overlap the shading. And then I flattened the accents once they were dry.

Can't decide which one I prefer. I think I like the leaves overlapping, but would have preferred to have the flower in the shading.

Here's the time for my first card ... excluding drying time for the enamel accents.

Friendship

I used the colour palette, sketch, product option (washi) and theme (friendship) of the CCC July Challenge. Since we actually send cards for this challenge, the reveal always comes at the beginning of the next month. You can pop along HERE to see all the cards sent.

I will also enter this to the AAA Cards Challenge : Friendship. I love that they used the globe which ties in nicely with the CCC challenge too.

Mono printing with stencils

I wanted to try my hand at the mono printing with stencils.

Here's my first try ...

Thought there was not enough ink, so made sure it was heavily inked for the second try ...

Still a bit blotchy, so I wondered how it would turn out if I inked with Versamark before inking with the distress inks. Third try ....

Well that was surprising. I had thought the ink would stick to the stencil more evenly, but it went to the edges. But I love the light feel of it.  There are still a lot of ink on the stencil so I got a fourth card ...

This last one is the one I used for my card.
