Mono printing with stencils

I wanted to try my hand at the mono printing with stencils.

Here's my first try ...

Thought there was not enough ink, so made sure it was heavily inked for the second try ...

Still a bit blotchy, so I wondered how it would turn out if I inked with Versamark before inking with the distress inks. Third try ....

Well that was surprising. I had thought the ink would stick to the stencil more evenly, but it went to the edges. But I love the light feel of it.  There are still a lot of ink on the stencil so I got a fourth card ...

This last one is the one I used for my card.

My entries for ...

  3. Isn't it fun playing with this technique? Always unique results and what a beautiful card. All the stencil mono prints are fabulous. Your card is so delicate, so pretty and so perfect for the sad occasion. Love how you've done your beautiful flower die and the sentiment stamped in the blue and a great layout too. Thank you for joining in the CAS Mix Up Challenge with your beautiful card x.

  4. All your Stenciled Monoprint backgrounds are beautiful and very artsy. If you are looking for perfection it does not really happen in this technique, but what you get are really cool artsy images. Keep all your backgrounds as they are beautiful and will be fun to use to create cards in the future. So pleased you tried the technique Janet and have several beautiful samples. Your soft background and die cut flowers made a wonderful sympathy card. TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs...
