Calming Bouquet

Shades of pink with the contrast of black and I immediately thought of the Calming Bouquet washi tape.

Thought I would go with a slimline card this time. I hand drew the line to give a frame.

Color Hues : Sage & Coral

I am happy to be a guest designer at the Color Hues Challenge this week.

Here is this week's challenge

I have so many new supplies I think my brain might fry! I should not be allowed any new products for a year.  So I had so use my NBUS supplies : SSS Etched Magnolia dies and the leaves from Etched Meadow flower. Love the dimension you get with this flower.

The background was created using the Altenew Kind Confetti which I only inked once, but stamped twice.

We're looking forward to seeing your creations.

Bold Background

I'm still working my way through new supplies. This time I'm trying out the Ixora embossing folder from Altenew.

It's so unlike me but I picked a dark green cardstock as the starting point. Then I swished over it with White pigment ink and let it dry. Decided it needed another colour. Started with Spun Sugar Oxide ink, but it was too pale, so then added Picked Raspberry Oxide ink. I gave it a splatter of white acrylic paint, tied some cord and mounted it on cardstock distressed with pink (in fact I didn't even add any new ink to my blending brush - just used what was leftover).

Stencilled Blossoms & Diamond Frames

Playing with the Altenew Hill Blossoms stencil & Fine Frame Diamond dies and the Spellbinder All the Stars stencil.

I've done it in 3 different colour combinations, and used different techniques with the dies ...

  • as an embossing folder,
  • as a panel and
  • as a frame.

I started with my favourite colour - blue of course! The die was used as an embossing folder using the rubber mat, then I masked it and distressed around the edges to give some depth.

My second has turquoise flowers. Kept the die cuts together to create a panel. The flowers didn't flow as I wanted, so I cut off the top 2 and tucked them behind the panel.

Third option I really wanted to use the Altenew Sugarplum and Nature's Wonder Ink sets. I used just one of the frame dies and inked it with the same ink so that it would match the flowers.

Embossing Folders and Watercolour

I had this one flower image left over from my watercolour morning. It wasn't working with the lace die cut I had planned for it. So I decided it needed to be put in a plant box.

Cut a square and embossed with my new Altenew Checkered Squares 3D embossing folder. The background panel was an inked Stampin' Up Tasteful Textile embossing folder.

Isn't the 3D texture amazing?!

English Garden Set

I'm so happy that this set of 4 products has arrived from Pinkfresh Studio. They came up with the brilliant idea of matching the stamping set with the die so it can all be cut in one go. In addition they have washi tape that can be cut with the same die, and a stencil to colour.

I decided to cut one set of the washi tape and make a set a cards.

I ended up with 4 cards. It's a quick and easy way to make a set of cards to gift!

The first card ... I embossed a grid and sentiment in gold, and used a die to emboss a border around the card, adding a few enamel dots.

Another shot to try and catch the gold embossing to match the gold foiling on the washi tape.

The second card is very CAS. I needed a Sympathy card and I wanted to keep it soft and airy. A splatter of ink to tie in with the NBUS  "Reglettes Ronds" die from Simply Graphic. (Ruler circles die).

Card three was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketch. I die cut the circle from the panel, then embossed with the Rustic Linen embossing folder.

The last card of the set used the wreath. I didn't want the full circle so decided to trim off one edge. Found some patterned paper in my stash and added the thin gold strip of washi from Altenew.

What do you think?
Would you like this set? Which is your favourite?

With Sympathy

I think it's a good idea to make a selection of sympathy cards so that when you need one, you can choose one from your stash.

I hesitated about distressing a soft blue in the window, but in the end thought I'd keep it more CAS. What do you think?
