Flowers for my Mother

It's getting close to Mother's Day (although the dates vary by country!) so it's timely to have the cue word of MOTHER at the CASology challenge this week.

I spent 6 weeks with my mother over March & April ... 3 weeks in South Africa, and then she came over to Mauritius for 3 weeks.  It's a pity we live so far away from each other, especially as she gets older.  She is so tiny now ... we joked that we had put her in the tumble-dryer and she shrunk! She's only 4' 9½" now.

She loves flowers, and loves pink, so this is my card for her.  I masked off a heart area to restrict the stamping of my Hero Arts rose stems.

This is also a shout out to the golden oldie and firm favourites of Hero Arts as they celebrate their 45th Birthday!

Come and check on the creations of the design team and be inspired. Looking forward to seeing your take on the cue word.

Hero Arts 45th Anniversary - Card 2 - Tiny Blocks

I'm mixing up the old with the new, and Hero Arts with The Stamp Market. I love how Hero Arts encourages and collaborates with other companies in the craft business.

More tributes to the wonderful Hero Arts golden oldies but still firm favourites!

When you have small stamps, a fun way to use them is to repeat, repeat, repeat! But you don't have to do it in a uniform manner.

Paired up with the new-to-me The Stamp Market set called Botanicals. I used the ink and spritz technique.

Hero Arts 45th Anniversary - Card 1 - Buds

When I took the photo of my early Hero Arts stamps, it made me want to ink them up again.  So I'll be using some "golden oldie" stamps but in new ways.

Here is my CAS, one-layer card ... using masking techniques and Copics for colouring, with some doodled dots ...

... but then I messed it up when I turned it over and there was wet ink on my Media Mat!

Ooops!

So I time for take 2!
I trimmed off the strip with the splotch, and added a thin silver strip.

Here are the supplies I used ... I have re-organised my word stamps in categories so that they are easier to find.
