Festive Branch

It's the last challenge at CASology for 2019. How this year has flown by! The cue word is BRANCH.

I started with the Alexandra Renke Branch with Leaves die. I used some of my patterned paper stash and added white enamel to highlight the berries. Added a button - more stash reduction!

Birthday Rings and Splatters

CASology is now having 2 week challenges. This gives you plenty of time to get your mojo working. Our cue word is RING for this fortnight.

I went with the idea of rings of ink.

I added enamel accents to match the swipes of Copic ink.

Smile

We have a lovely challenge at CASology this week. The cue word is SMILE. Who wouldn't want to bring a smile to someone's face?!

I added matching enamel accents to each pair of leaves. A great way to add dimension and interest to a CAS card.

Distress Oxides on Kraft

I had not planned on using my Distress Oxides on the kraft, but the creation process sometimes goes in it's own direction.

I started with leftover pieces of kraft after die cutting a frame. I had stamped my Floral Shadow stamping in Hero Arts White Unicorn with the intention of colouring with Prismacolour crayons. But then I thought the area was too great and decided to try painting with Distress Oxides as a quick solution. Decided to add some pencil at the end to give some more detail.

I popped up the middle panel on foam to give it extra dimension.

Added white enamel accents to the flower centers and doodled white dots and lines with a gel pen.

Mandala Wishes

I'm using more new stash again ... Distress Brushes and the lovely Altenew Acetate Butterflies.

I began by sponging (and Distress brushing) behind the Mandala die. I wanted to match the butterfly to the red/orange center, so I took the clear one and coloured with Copics. To clear up the lines made by the markers, I put some blending solution on the felt and dabbed to blend the colours. I used a earbud with blending solution to wipe up the edges.

I organised my Distress Brushes in Rainbow order - plus brown. I used Copics to mark a circle on the end, and washi tape around the bases. Makes it easy to find the one I want.

One Layer Floral

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire's one layer frame card. I added some shading to the outer edge to give the illusion of depth. I decided to use Prismacolour crayons for colouring. The dots are flattened Enamel Accents - I quite like the effect.

Abstract

I could have fun all day with the new CASology challenge. The cue word this week is ABSTRACT. There are so many wonderful paint mark and abstract images out there ... and I have quite a few in my stash so I may be making a few more this week.

Abstract is a wonderful theme for a masculine card.

Let's start by celebrating ... and painting the town red!
