Winter Scene 1

I'm happy to be a guest designer at CAS Watercolour for January.  

The challenge for this month is winter.  

One can just dream of winter while sweltering in 32ºC temperatures and high humidity.

Loll sent me the lovely die in perfect timing for the challenge.

Fresh

The CASology Challenge starts the year with FRESH as the cue word. How are you going to interpret it? A fresh start? 

I could certainly do with FRESH right now ... it's 34ºC with high humidity today! Nothing's better than a chilled watermelon on hot summer day.

I added some Nuvo Glitter Gloss to give it that juicy shine.

CASe-ing Alex

There is so much wonderful inspiration out there ... and it wonderful to actually get round to bringing it to life in my studio.

I was so inspired by Alex Syberia's colours, and since I had the same stamp, thought I would use the same as hers.

I decided to only do 1 flower as I was using the standard size card. This also gave space for the sentiment and a light background. I used Distress Inks as watercolour.

Gift Box of Cards

A Christmas wrapped box of cards ... a gift for friends who love getting cards.

I made a pizza style box. Simple, but elegant.

This card stock has a wonderful metallic shimmer, and it's quite thick and sturdy.

Stocking Fillers ...

It's an oldie, but a goodie and too much fun not to repeat! Snowman Poop Tic Tacs ... a sweet stocking filler.

It's thanks to Whimsie Doodles for the digital images. 

I colour mine to suit the recipient's favourite colour. The set for my book club...

Tea is the Best Time

I love my tea, so had to play with this set just once more before the end of the year.

The gingham "ribbon" is actually a stamp - a golden oldie from Hero Arts!

The last CASology Challenge of the year has the Christmas theme of HOLLY as the cue word. This is a 2 week challenge.

I was inspired by Julie to use the Modern Tree (stamped in a zig zag fashion) as a border.

Adding Glossy Accents to the berries really makes them pop!

Christmas Trees

My first Black Friday purchases arrived yesterday ... so had to use them, else I will have to wait for next Christmas.

Some lovely shimmer on the white tree with Nuvo glitter gloss and Glossy Accents on the hearts, and white enamel accents on the green trees.
