Watercolour Hydrangeas

So happy so receive my latest order from Pinkfresh Studio - the Hydrangea and Rose Stamp, die and washi tape set.  I started by doing some water colouring with the stamp set. The sentiment is from Simply Graphic - the Hello set.

Lovely Lavender

It's been lovely to see Susan Raihala's posts on her blog Simplicity, and I've loved the white on white matting and frames (see here, here and here). I'm so inspired by her CAS design so I thought I would try do a white on white card.

I love lavender and so was happy to get the new Hero Arts Lavender Bunch.  This is my first card with it and used the no line watercolour technique.

Layers of Flowers

I did some no line colouring with Daniel Smith watercolour a couple of weeks back. Thank you Kristina at lachristanel design for the colour inspiration.

Now time to put them on a card. I die cut them and decided I needed to layer them if I wanted them all on one card.

So another gatefold card, this time with a middle layer.

Here you can see the middle layer, as well as more leaves on the back layer.

Here you can see it opening and closing ...

This is how it looks folded flat to go in the envelope.

Just my Cup of Tea

I'm a tea drinker! Love my pot of tea at least twice a day. My mother bought me a beautiful Royal Doulton Memory Lane tea set for my engagement present all those years ago. I'm so happy that I still have the full set and you can imagine how much I love it as I love blue so much.

So my card is inspired by this pretty set.

I've used the largest Hero Arts tea cup die, and got a little sneaky by using the MFT bowl die, from Bedside Comfort set, to cut out the handle space. You can see it better on my second card below. The roses (Altenew Vintage Teacup set) were stamped in a soft blue and then coloured with Prismacolor pencils in the no line colouring method.

What large dies do you have? Why not use one for the CASology Challenge : BIG

I enjoyed it so much, I had to make another using some of my favourite paper from Lili of the Valley.

Prismacolor no line colouring

They say practise makes perfect ... so I'm still practising my no line colouring, but this time I'm using the Prismacolor pencils. You can watch the video by Shari Carroll if you want some tips.

[You can see the same Antique Rose coloured with Distress Inks if you want to compare]

I was struggling with working our which colours to use in my new 150 colour set. So I downloaded this colour chart and coloured it myself.

But I didn't like the fact that the chart didn't fit in my pencil case, and there were 10 lines on the chart but 6 containers in the box. I spent an afternoon cutting up the colours, gluing in 6 rows on a new piece of card stock that would fit in the box and then rearranged the container sets to match it all.

So here is what it looks like now ... so much easier to find the colours I want.

More no line watercolouring

My second card using Distress Inks for no line watercolouring uses the Hero Arts Antique Rose Stem stamp, and Papertrey Ink sentiment stamp and die.

... the Muse Challenge #204.  I was inspired by Jenni's pink rose, rectangle matting and die cut sentiment.

No line watercolouring

I've been practising my no line colouring this week. I started with using Distress Inks (Candied Apple, Mowed Lawn & Peeled Paint) as watercolour paints on the Hero Arts antique flowers.
