Painted Rose

I love the bright boldness of this rose over the softness of the stenciled background.

Instead of adding the ink colour to the embossing paste, I put the colour directly to the paper.  Then I added transparent embossing paste, removed the stencil, and sprinkled over clear embossing powder.  Then I heat set it. I like that you can get a more subtle and variant shading on the stencil this way.

Here's a close up of the stencilled background ...

Especially for You

This is my first card of a set using some inked backgrounds and paired with the Pinkfresh Studio dies.

This background was a combination of watercolour and stencilling.

It went winging it's way to Hilary in UK for the July Card Chain Challenge. It is the reveal today as all the cards should have reached their recipients by now. I went with the technique - both the watercolour and the stencil.

If you want to join in the fun, and send and receive the real thing, then come sign up for the August Card Chain Challenge.

Fancy Folds - A Frame!

I spotted this fancy fold card (Here, here and here) and immediately thought of the Simon Says Stamp Leafy Frame set.  I wanted to see if I could make it work as the stamp is smaller than the card frame. I ended up staying up way too late!

I haven't got the matching die set yet, so I fussy cut it!

Sweet Friend

Combining supplies from different craft companies ... to get that idea in my head on to the card!

This little bird from Hero Arts is golden oldie ... but I'll always keep it as it's a firm favourite.

Happy Daisy

Don't you think that daisies are such fresh, happy flowers?!

I coloured the outer die cut in C1 Copic, and yellow and grey in the center of the petals. Stamped some "paint" stamps and doodled the black lines.

Handpicked Bouquet

I'm back in my studio after a wonderful trip to the Amalfi Coast, then on to Exeter and my son's graduation. If you ever get to the Amalfi Coast, then the Path of the Gods with Sorrento Hiking is a not to be missed experience! Simply heavenly adventure.

But back to stamping ...

Using my brand new Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Double Rectangles.  I thought I would used them all connected before separating them.
