With my go-to colours, I couldn't resist the Color Throwdown Challenge.
I borrowed my friend's new Simon Says die, (Thanks Marie-Françoise!) added one background stamp and a touch to twine.

Colourful Butterfly
I couldn't resist the Fusion Challenge this week. Butterflies and lovely colours are just up my street.
I went fusion ... combining the inspiration photo and sketch challenge. I think it's perfect to send to one of my daughters who are going through a very wet cold winter in the UK.

Christmas SPARKLE
One of my goals for this year is to get more pages scrapped. And the Pagemaps Gossamer Blue February Kit Sketch Challenge made this one SO MUCH FUN!
A touch of Brushed Pewter and Tarnished Brass Distress Stain added to some embossing paste smoothed over the Studio Calico chevron stencil gave great texture to the background. I didn't buy the "gold" Distress Stain, and I found by mixing the Brushed Pewter and Tarnished Brass I could get just the right colour for my layout. And it has a lovely shimmer to it.
Making splats of Brushed Pewter Distress Stains was fun!
I put the washi tape on white card before mounting it on foam as it would look rather lumpy if I just stuck it over the embossing paste.
I used the Hero Arts silver ink to stamp the "Christmas". I had matt silver alpha stickers for the "sparkle", but it didn't pop enough, so I added Diamond Stickles.
Here is another angle ... trying to catch the sparkle.
This is my book club - and we have been together for over 16 years!! And their friendship, support, laughter and fun are worth more than gold or silver.

I die cut the envelope from silver vellum; and the tag has some lovely gold and silver washi tape to peek out. Silver and gold buttons added the last touch.

Blue !
CAS-ual Friday Stamps are having a Blue challenge. Just up my street!
I used the Big Thanks and Bold Wishes sets. I created the bright blue twinchie yesterday ... inked up with Salty Ocean Distress Ink direct to the paper, stamped once with Versamark to get tone on tone effect (bottom right), and once with water to get the pale effect (top left) ... and a few splashes of water too.

New Cover
I was still walking around with my Christmas iphone cover - way overdue for a change.
Instead of going with washi tape this time, I decided to play with the new Hero Arts stencil that Cat Craig sent me with her CCC card. (Thank you!)
Wanted a heart because I had my 25th wedding anniversary early January.
Always need a touch of turquoise because the rubber edge is turquoise - and saw that Dynamic Duos were going with Teal & Red this challenge - so have gone with those 2 colours.
I used Peacock Feather and Salty Ocean distress inks on the stencil. Gave it a spritz of blue perfect pearls. It has a lovely shimmer.
A close-up shot to get an idea of the shimmer.
In the cover ...
I will also enter it in Simon Says Work it Wednesday "New" theme as I used my new stencil and new heart punch.

New Stamps
Got to start using all these new stamps! So got a bit inky with my Distress Stains on the background (a while since I did this). Embossed in white - I love that the linen texture of the stamp came through the embossing powder - well I did use White Detail EP! Then I added a shadow line with copics.

Ribbon & Twine
Simon Says Anything Goes with Twine or String. I choose twine and ribbon and a bit of washi too! Using my new Simon Says Stamp tag die and Hero Arts stamps.
Happy Birthday
Playing today with embossing and distress inks. Will enter this into the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge
The little polaroid frame was stamped and embossed in white, then I used Shabby Shutters and Salty Ocean to distress over. I also used the Salty Ocean to dye the ribbon so it matches perfectly.
