Ho Ho Ho!

It's time for a new CASology challenge - the cue word this week is ARITHMETIC. I went with the cube formula, and the Altenew Caps Bold Alphabet die!

I think I'll be sending this to my nephew who loves mathematics.

How about popping in to see how the rest of the design team figured out this cue word?!

I will also enter this into the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge

Happy Day

After my group of stamping friends played with a stamping kit I put together (see HERE), I knew I wanted to expand on the one idea of creating shading on the leaf frame. I held the leaf frame on my card front and made pencil marks where I was going to need shading. I removed the frame and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. This method lets you colour right up to the frame without getting a white line.

My entry for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #360 I turned the sketch upside down - hope that's ok.

Garden Grow

Breaking out another new stamp set ... Garden Grow from Altenew. You may see more from this set soon.

I was inspired by May Sukyong Park's card, and followed a similar layout. However, I was inspired by the colours of the Altenew October Challenge and used Copics to colour.

I popped up the panel on orange foam to give an extra touch of colour.

For my second card, I created a little scene. I made the bench a little longer by stamping part of it to the right of the basil pot plant (which I masked), and then to the left.

Artsy Flowers

Do you find that stamps seem to come in the mailbox faster than you can use?! How does that happen? So many stamps, not enough time!

So I ordered this wonderfully artsy flower set from Simon Says Stamp a while back, but I have only made one card with it! Time to get it out again.

I measured out ¼ of a card front on a piece of paper in the stamping platform, and set up the stamps to fit in that area. I stamped once & rotated the card and stamped again. Then I moved it down and repeated it. A lovely quick way to get to get a card front covered.

I painted it with Distress Inks.

Butterfly tribute

Sad news in the craft world this week, with the passing of Melissa (of Honey Bee Lane), and a DT of Stamplorations and AAA Cards. Stamplorations are having a butterfly tribute to celebrate and acknowledge her creative and artistic talents.

I am joining in the celebration of her life and talents, and send deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I have used the Stamplorations Winged Things set. It was a 3 step process :
  • stamp the butterflies on the dark card stock with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink
  • colour with Prismacolour pencils
  • re-stamp with the ink and then emboss in white to make it really pop.
If you emboss before colouring, you can't get into to small areas or very close to the lines.

Bits & Pieces tag

I'm still trying to use up all the bits and pieces ... and this came together as I was sorting by colours.

Ooh .. and I just noticed that it's the same colours as my blog header.

I offset the blue panel to add some interest while keeping it CAS.

Autumn Leaves

I'm trying to use up my my bits and pieces that seem to multiply faster than completed cards! I was tidying up and sorting by colours which I hoped would help me use them.

So the leaves, strip and fibres were in all my stash.

Punctuation

It's Tuesday, and it's time for a new CASology Challenge. This week's cue word is punctuation.

In order to keep things CAS, I typed up the words so that I could have them all in the same font.  I stamped the hashtag in rainbow colours to make it more festive, adding the strip of rainbow painted card from my stash to match. The black striped paper is also stamped (see HERE) for how I keep a ready-to-go collection.

This is quite an interesting challenge, so pop on over to the DT to see their take on this cue word.

What would you make?

I set up 3 "challenge" kits for my friends yesterday. I was inspired by the colours at CAS Colours & Sketches for this set ...

Here is my card ...

And my friends' cards ... I'm so inspired that I want to go and play some more. Love the watercolour on the leaf frame, the angle of the flowers, the bold framed wish big! What would you make with this set of supplies?
