Happy Easter

It's CASology challenge time ... with the cue word CROSS.

As Easter is at the end of the week, I wanted to make a card for my mother. The Spirit of Easter is all about hope, love and joyful living ... all because He is Risen!

So I wish you all a Happy Easter ... may it be filled with the power and peace that comes from his resurrection.

Foiled leaf

It's Tuesday so time for the CASology Challenge. The cue word is FOIL.

Do you have a pile of bits and pieces that have been left over or unfinished? I have 3 baskets of them! So happy that I made this is a card from only those baskets of bits.

I had cut a bunch of leaves (like for this card), and paint brush piece from playing in the Abstract challenge a few weeks back.

It's difficult to capture the foil, so here's a different angle.

Rotating Flowers

It's been a while since I did any rotating stamping with my MISTI/Stamping Platform (I have both), but was reminded by Jennifer McGuire's post. However, since it would take weeks to get those supplies, I did the next best thing. I cut some stencils of my own using my Silhouette. I also had the templates I had made from the downloads offered by Maureen Wong - see HERE (and she has great videos too!). What I like about these is that you can decide if you want 4/5/6/8 rotations.

I used the hexagon for this one ... with WPlus9 flowers.

See through Masculine card

Taking a masculine approach to the see through cards. Covered the card stock with distress inks and brushed over Perfect Pearls to give a metallic look. The inside of the card is blue and there is a matching white panel lining up with the front.

4 for 1

A while back I painted background in a rainbow of colours (like for this card) and I had one piece left. Instead of going with the the petals, I went with Hero Arts butterfly confetti die.

Cut it up into 4 pieces. Paired them up with white dies ... frame from Simon Says Stamp, flowers from Ranger, tabs from MFT, ribbon from May Arts.

Great to get 4 cards from one die!

Which one do you like best?

Bug

It's time for CASology challenge. The cue word this week is BUG.

A very simple card with one die and a splash of watercolour. Sequins and a few extra splatters give a sense of movement.

There are some amazing fun interpretations from the design team this week. Go take a peak.

Frankly my dear ...

I've had this stamp set for a while, but it's the first time I'm using it (A NBUS). Frankly my dear ... it's about time!

So happy to have the Stamping Platform to help me create the layers.

Boldly African

I've touched down in South Africa today! And one more week until I go to the game reserve. One of my favourite places to be ... in the wild seeing animals in their own habitat. Oh the peace and tranquility ... a time to breathe and refresh the soul.

Stamped the drinking giraffe a second time to create the reflection in the water.

Abstract 2

I had promised another card with some the paint mark stamp sets on my last post, so here is another card for the CASology Abstract challenge. I used Distress Oxides for the colours.

Abstract

I could have fun all day with the new CASology challenge. The cue word this week is ABSTRACT.  There are so many wonderful paint mark and abstract images out there ... and I have quite a few in my stash so I may be making a few more this week.

Abstract is a wonderful theme for a masculine card.

Let's start by celebrating ... and painting the town red!
