Peace Dove

I knew I wanted the Bird dies from Ellen Hutson, but this is the first time I'm using them. Paired with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Let it Snow

Tuesday means it's CASology Challenge day! Our cue word this week is Round. We had the pick of 2 Kitty Bee Designs and I chose Snow Penguin.

The snow is mixture of Nuvo Blue Lagoon Glitter Drops and Diamond Stickles.

More Charmed Flowers

I've been playing around with different ways of colouring the Charmed flowers. I used Distress Inks as watercolours, pulling through the Squeezed Lemonade with Carved Pumpkin and Ripe Persimmon.

Inlays and Baubles

I was so taken with Ardyth's inlays, thought I'd give it a try. I don't have any flourish dies so thought I'd use the Ellen Hutson pine branches. Oh my! Not a wise choice, especially as I thought I'd be clever and do one branch behind the other. This is not for the faint-hearted.

I used some very fine glitter paper that I discovered at a local store, adding Copic colouring to deepen colour on the back pine branch and the bottom of the sentiment. The gold on the ornaments is Delicate gold refill ink - painted on. Love that ink!

Grateful

Orange is not my favourite colour and it's not easy for me to use on my cards, but there are a number of challenges with this colour scheme, so I thought I'd give it a go.

I love the lightness of the Charmed set from Altenew, so kept it mostly white and just added touches of yellow and orange. Background was created by watercoloring with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Love the colours that come out of it.

And I learnt a new thing today ... I had weighted down my card to flatten it after it had buckled a little from the watercoloring. And look what it did to the Enamel Accents ... flattened them AND gave them a velvety look. So now there are 2 ways to use them. So happy with the find.

Christmas Cheer

How about creating and sending some Christmas Cheer to friends and family. The cue word at the CASology Challenge this week is Cheer!

I found some Christmas Cheer amongst my stamps in the Papertrey Wet Paint Holiday Tags set. Since it was in a circle shape, the first thing that came to mind was Christmas pudding! So I added some frosting and holly.

I used Stickles to give the cheer some sparkle.

Christmas Frame & Bow

I've had a little shopping spree at Ellen Hutson and one of die sets in my bag was the Poinsettia & Pine. And I can't resist gingham ribbon!

Some Frosted Lace Stickles to give a little sparkle.

Sharp and prickly Holly

This week's CASology Challenge cue word is SHARP.

I've gone with sharp and prickly Holly leaves ...

The red lines are washi tape. I've decided I've got to use my stash!

And a close up of the double layered die cut sentiment and glossy accented berries.

Colourful Baubles

Oh I'm so happy how these cards turned out! Love it when a plan comes together. As I was making the die cuts, I realised I could use the die and the negative space too.

When I spotted the Just Us Girls Challenge photo, I knew I wanted to try create the effect with distress inks.

Each bauble was a 4 step process ...I first blended the ink on smooth. Then I spattered with the same colour. Then I added a second colour and finally I spattered Gold Delicata.
The colours I used were :
Large Bauble : Base with Tumbled Glass, then splatters with Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet & Delicata Gold
Medium Bauble : Base with Wilted Violet, then splatters of Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers and & Delicate Gold
Small Bauble : Base with Carved Pumpkin, then splatters with Candied Apple & Delicate Gold

Here are some close ups ...
