Fancy Folds

I recently discovered Patrice's Fancy Fold Blog Hop which he runs once a month. As I love doing technical things with a little challenge, I had to try and make one. The first card I spotted was the Lever card of Fancy Fold #6 Blog Hop ... but they are already on #11.

With summer in full swing, Life is certainly better in Flip Flops and this is my take on the lever card ...

I will enter this into ...

... Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Anything Goes

... Inkspirational Challenge #127 : Polka Dots ... on my sun

CASology #234 : Youth

It's been a long time since I've used a digital stamp, but we were sent such a sweet ladybird by the Kitty Bee Designs for the CASology Youth Challenge this week, that I had to try it again. The advantage of digital designs is that you can make them whatever size you want.

Adding a touch of stencil gives some texture without overpowering the card.

CASology #233 : Glisten

It's been a tough week for someone close to me, and I wanted to send her some encouragement.

This week at CASology #233, the theme is Glisten. There is always something that we can be thankful for, even in tough times. And then those "little joys" can shine some light into our lives.

Love these stars from Club Scrap. I used some holographic embossing powder and then added dots of Frosted Lace Stickles to the centre. Using tags are a great way to reduce the size of a background stamp.

CASology #232 : Cut

This week's cue word at CASology Challenge is CUT!

I wanted to add some interest to my word die cut from Stamplorations, so I inked it in graduating colour and then stamped some horizontal lines from the Simon Says Stamps Basic Stripes set.

I used the same line stamp on my card and matched them up.

Grab your die cuts or scissors and join in the challenge.

Hi

I was so taken by Amanda's card, that I had to make my own version. I went with a a lovely cheery blue background. I used Distress Inks as watercolour.

CASology #231 : Forest

Those of us in the southern hemisphere are just getting back to "normal life" this week. I returned home from the beach yesterday, and had a busy day today helping my daughter to prepare and pack. Flying back to the real world and work.

Life slows down when you're at the beach ... in the mountains ... by lakes ... in nature. Gives one time to regain our perspective and balance. A great way to start the year and good to do on a regular basis.

So here's my card for the CASology Forest Challenge.

Using only one third of the card leaves plenty of white space. I had to try out my new colours of Prismacolor crayons. Lots of lovely greens in my new 150 set!

CASology #230 : Cold

This is my first card for the CASology DT! What an exciting start to 2017. Wishing you all a most creative year ahead.

The cue word this week's challenge is COLD, and I could certainly do with something cold these hot southern hemisphere summer days. I'm just melting at the beach!

To keep the card CAS, I decided to go for the "one third rule", in using only one third of the card for the design, and placing the images at the one-third sweet spot. Using small pieces of patterned paper adds interest without making the card too busy.
