Album Finished!

Whew! Finally finished the wedding album my friend asked me to do. I love making cards and layouts in the style that the receiver would like. She loves simple yet vintage look ... lots of lace, pearls and flourishes in creams, white. So I grabbed some white, cream and vanilla cardstock and went straight to my Silhouette. Cut out lots of scrolls, flourishes, roses, frames and words. Then I got script & flourish stamps, ribbons, lace, embossing powder and pearls and was ready to go.

 I can't share the pages with the photos, but here are some sneak peeks.

Loved the soft look of pearl embossing powder giving a tone on tone look.

I used vellum with the the Hero Arts medallion embossing folder, then fussy cut it and topped with Silhouette cut flourishes, lace and pearls.

I loved how this page turned out ... the Penny Black scroll border was the perfect touch at the bottom of the photo.

The next page I used a lot of different embossing folders and inlayed Silhouette die cuts.

Silhouette cut wedding rings. This was a wonderful shimmer gold cardstock from Club Scrap.

For the page coming out of the church, confetti shaker tags!

The Silhouette does amazingly fine cuts.

The roses ... and great that you can vary the sizes.

Wonderful sentiment from Penny Black ... with vellum over to make it soft.

For the pictures under the rain and umbrellas.

Embossed paper and die cuts.

One of my absolutely favourite flourish stamps from Inkadinkado. So light and lovely.

And couldn't resist using the WPlus9 peonies.

Now I had better start my wedding album (even though I have been married for 26 years!)

Beautiful October

Our Beautiful World is having a Colors of October Challenge. Most of the photos are in northern hemisphere fall colours. BUT those of us in the southern hemisphere also have an October. But ours is spring! And my garden is full of lovely lavender colours ...

September CCC

So happy to send a September CCC card .

I went with the colour combination and sketch. 

I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers and embossed in white, then painted in with Distress Markers and Inks. I didn't have olive green sequins, so stamped up with the WPlus9 set. Added Wink of Stella to add sparkle.

Shimmery Butterflies 1 ...

My friend Bronwyn came stamping today with a whole stash of wonderful butterflies. She had inked up a craft sheet with Distress Inks, spritzed with Perfect Pearls and smooshed the paper into the ink. When it was dry, she die cut the butterflies. Then she flicked some Delicata Gold refill ink over. It gives such a lovely shimmer.

Of course, I chose of the blue/green ones! Paired it with a Papertrey Ink Smoosh sentiment.

This is one of the wonderful dies that came with my spanking Brand new Big Shot Plus! So happy. I die cut white cardstock, spritzed the gold sections and watercoloured the green piece.

August CCC

I was a bit late in sending my August CCC - just couldn't get into my craft studio! (Renovations, kids home from university, ....)

I was inspired by the sketch and colours.

I flipped the sketch a bit - those rays made me think of things pouring out. I used my silhouette to cut out the jug, and typed up the sentiment.

Geometric designs

It's amazing how often different challenges overlap - it's like some kind of common wave-length of inspiration. This week Virginia's Challenge : Geometric Designs ties in well with inspiration of the Runway Challenge : Michael Kors.

Going with geometrics is a good time to go for a masculine card. The hexagons are popped up on foam and I added an enamel dot. I like the way the sentiment fits into the space between the hexagons.

Card Scramble #117 - No 2.

LaVon was running the Hero Arts Card Scramble #117 and she gave us the 3 sketches which were from the August 2012 Hero Arts Challenge.

I first went with the circle sketch, making a die inlay card. I think it may be the first one I've ever made. I first watercoloured cardstock with Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed). Gave a spritz of Perfect Pearls. Dried and die-cut. I inked up the card front with Picked Raspberry using direct pad to paper so that it was lovely and vibrant. Sentiment is from Altenew.

This is so completely different from the first card I made with this die. I will enter it in the Hero Arts Makeover Challenge.
