Slimline Flower

The latest craze is slimline cards ... and I wondered how I could make one but also keep it light and CAS.

I had one flower and a left over frame sitting on my workspace ... added some script writing, a die cut sentiment (from Alexandra Renke - so thin and light) and a touch of Tonic Nuvo Aqua shimmer and sequins for that sparkle.

My entry to ...

... Seize the Birthday : Tic-Tac-Toe I chose Large sentiment, flowers, one image.

    1. Yes it is terrible. It's very sad.
Made worse by an incompetent government who didn't have any kind of disaster plan in place (despite there being a shipwreck 3 years ago); and who took NO action for 10 days!
      Simply scandalous!
Mangroves have been overrun with oil, and many beaches, coastline. We have a long way to go.
If it wasn't for many NGOs and the Mauritian people, it would be way worse!
Finally 2 days ago, the Prime Minister asked Macron if France could help with expertise and equipment. It was sent from Reunion the next day. They are now pumping the oil from the ship (3400 tons of it!!) to other ships.
In the meantime, thousands of Mauritians have been sewing up dry sugar cane leaves into long tubes to create barriers. Others have been fulling up barrels as the oil reaches the beach. So sad to see that there is such goodwill, helpful, intelligent people here who are prepared to step up to help, yet the govt is so useless.

  2. Gorgeous slimline, Janet - you always have such beautiful proportions to your cards and this one is no different! So delicate and feminine! I hadn't heard the news about the oil til now - will have to go ready further. Hoping your gov't takes care of it quickly!

  5. Hi Gisela,
As I started with a sheet of US Letter cardstock which is 8.5" x 11", I kept the width of 8.5" and cut at 7". When folded, it makes a card of 3.5" x 8.5".
If I did it again, perhaps I would make it 4" x 8.5".
