Ombre Hi

I have had new supplies coming in so fast! I find it helpful to go back to the cards and ideas that made me buy them in the first place.

I so enjoyed Seeka's idea of using one die behind the negative cuts of letter dies. So I pulled out one of my inked card fronts and went from there.

I obviously still had the actual letter dies left over.  I started by distressing them with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean in an ombre way.  Then I thought they needed some more details, so stamped the SSS Outline Leaves Background and embossed in white.  I coloured the leaves with white pencil which helped them stand out.

I love this Stampin' Up embossing folder - so subtle.

  2. Gorgeous cards, Janet! I love how you used the negative portion of your die cuts to add the leaves and how you colored them with white pencil on the 2nd card! Beautiful ombre inking, too! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Addicted to CAS!

  3. Ohh my goodness such beautiful creations, both of them . Using the leave dies in the background for the first card then the leaves embossed into the Hi, just stunning. Definite pining for these cards. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and we hope to see you there again soon. Aileen DesignTeam

  4. This Winnie and Walter die is one of my all-time favourite dies and I immediately spotted it in the Gallery. Such a cool idea to put the leaf die-cuts behind it, adds so much texture and interest. And since blue is one of my favourite colours, your second card is heavenly. Always so lovely to see you at The Flower Challenge!!
