I needed to make 12 cards for staff and carers at the assisted living facility where my MIL is staying. Thought it would be fun to make a card that could have an ornament as part of the card. As they are more French speakers than English, I used the lovely simple "Noel" sentiment.
The ornament is stuck with temporary glue and can be easily removed. Some Diamond Stickles adds some lovely shimmer.
I finally got round to making a card with the wonderful Holy Nights die set of Concord & 9th. Used soft colours to convey peace, stillness ... a Holy night.
I'm not actually sending this card - I've put it up as a decoration. The colours just happen to match the delphiniums and pink flowers which I was so excited to find in Mauritius for the first time today. If anyone knows what those pink flowers are called, I would love to know. They are so soft and pretty and I have no idea what they are.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. May you be showered with the blessings of peace, the beauty of hope, the spirit of love and the comfort of faith. I leave you with this delightful recounting of the Christmas story by kids.
The LOTV (Lili of the Valley) stamps are just the cutest ... love their trio sets. I had been wondering how to incorporate the 3 when I spotted the Freshly Made Sketch - perfect fit.
I white embossed half the background with the Hero Arts Raindrop background stamp. I created the sentiment circle with words from the new Hero Arts Happy Merry Messages set and drew the outline and holly to match the other circles.
My new Penny Black supplies arrived this week. I ordered both the dove die and the stamp set which has the same lovely artistic dove. So I have made 3 cards following the same basic layout ... one with the stamp, one with the die, and one with the negative of the die. First with the stamp ... embossed in white ...
then the die with some Frosted Lace Stickles ...
and lastly, the negative of the die. I changed to watercolour, and decided that it was better without the magical background ...
Which one do you prefer? My entry for ... ... CAS Colours & Sketches #200 Challenge (Congratulations on their 4th Birthday and wonderful milestone!)
I have my mother visiting, so I don't have as much time to get into my studio to play. But I have promised her some Christmas tags. I gave her my Christmas stamps to choose which kind of designs she would like, and this LOTV stamp was one of them.
